Uh.. get DSL and a better video card. I'd recommend an ATI Radeon 9600 XT for the budget people.

To be honest, you probably wont get a dramatic improvement unless you switch to broadband. However, you may want to try running "AdAware" or "Spybot Search and Destroy". To see if you have any spyware on your system that may be dialing out and eating up some of your connection. As for the graphics and overall performance, i would reccomend checking out the Performance Tuning FAQ over at www.GearboxSoftware.com
On a related note, network performance is one of the supposed improvements in the upcomming patch. So if none of the above helps, you could wait for that with the rest of us.

first, you didnt give us much info to work with. Unfortuanatley, Halo wasnt that great of a port. The recommendations on the box also are a load of crap. What your comp probably needs is a nice tuneup from www.tweaktown.com. Check it out. All ideas there will make your comp run as fast as possible and speed up windows xp. For specific Halo info check out http://www.tweaktown.com/ttg/ttgdocument.php?dType=guide& dId=456. I swear by these guys they are the best damn people you can find for info.

I run a Radeon 9000 pro 128, and I have to say, theres only times that its loading the next little segment of the area that it slows down. THen again, I also have had my computer on for the past few weeks, so my ram is being eaten alive. But yea, upgrade your connection to minimum of DSL. Any dial-up connection for games now-a-days is probably the worst thing you can use. Since games now need more and more sent over the net -_-

The only problems I have is on some servers, when the game ends and the server switches to a new game, it locks up about 85% of the time.
I have no delayes, except from occational internet lag. I have no graphics or any other problems with the game.

I have amd 2400, 512 mb, 80 gb, 64 3 geforce ti200, 10mbs connection.
