I am planning to buy this video card VisionTek ATI 9200 Radeon XTASY 256MB PCI Graphics Card and i was wondering if its a good buy I was also wondering what kind of framerates i would get and also there is a 128mb one that is cheaper and i was wondering which one i should pick the 128mb or the 256mb

I know this is a Pci card and its bad but i really really really dont want to change my mothervoard becuase my older brother wont let make that kind of upgrade he said that i can only upgrade my video card

Badly. You need a 9600 or above if you're going to expect good framerates at good resolutions. You also won't be able to see Halo's best effects like active camoflage (invisibility), some plasma weapon effects, specular lighting, possibly even the flamethrower. The 9200 isn't a gaming card, it's just something which PC manufacturers put in as a cheap alternative to a proper graphics card.
Since you only have PCI this is going to be an issue for you. There are no good PCI cards basically so... upgrade of expect poor performance.

Don't spend the extra $$$ on the 256MB version. I doubt that it will even be able to utilize 128MB, so just get that.

As far as a GeForce 2, uh, no, you can run it at about 25 frames per second, details high, at low resolution, and you will lag during fight scenes. I had one on my old computer before I got a 9600XT. Man did it blow the GF2 out of the water.

Get a new motherboard with AGP and get a 9800 Pro.

i really wouldnt mind keeping the resoltions at 640 by 480 to tell the truth i very happy with 800 by 600 but if i did buy the card and played it at 640 by 480 can i really expext at least 35-40 frame rate per second during single player

And also i have intel intergated 64mb so will i notice a big difference if i buy this card

Sexy legs i have no lag during fight scenes and I get 35 fps. The only time it lags is when it is loading something and that is usually only for like 1 second.

i have an ATI 128MB X300 and it works better than the XBOX version(i think) at the resoloution of 800x600 which means that you wil DEFINATELY have agood chance with anything above 64 MB

I used to just have intel's 64mb integrated graphics, but I got a 128mb PNY GeForce FX 5200 Ultra. Thic card is great for the money. I got mine for $60 at tigerdirect.com. I run it at 640 x 480 and I get around 90-120 FPS. If ur low on money this is the card u should get.
