EDIT: Now that bungie has announced Halo 3: ODST I think the question of this poll should be changed to:
"SHOULD THESE IDEAS BE INCLUDED IN THE NEW GAME?"
A lot of people have contributed toward this thread, but many of the features discussed in the list are most likely impossible to create in an update. So as you have seen already I changed the question from "Would you be willing to pay for this update?" to "Should these ideas be included in the new game?". It aims in the same general direction as the first question. You get the picture. I would appreciate it if you could try to read most if not all of this list before voting. These are pure suggestions to Bungie, not complaints. Please take all this seriously!
The new features could include:
New Forge Features
- 90 Degree Snap Button
- Terrain Editor (sandbox anyone?)
- An Undo Button
- Delete All Items Button
- Delete All Weapons Button
- Delete All Vehicles Button
- Delete Everything Button
- Drag Copy 'N' Paste Tool (move, copy, and paste one or more objects at a time)
- Choice of Skin on Vehicles (iced, normal, etc.)
- Choice of color for containers on maps like Avalanche, Blackout, Rats Nest...
- "Spraypaint" Tool (put blood, scorch, or scratch marks on any surface)
- Position Lock Button (press while holding an object and NOTHING will make it budge)
- Levitation Button (could be fused with the Position Lock Button^)
- Size Editor Tool (change the width, height, length of any permanent object)
- Bottomless Pit Option (for maps where you could fall to your death)
- "No Collision" Tool (for those who love to merge / geo-merge)
- X Y and Z Axis Settings (for more precise editing)
- Item Elimination Delay (opposite of respawn delay)
- Adjustable Man Cannons (change strength of man cannons)
- Name Custom Power-ups (example: "You picked up _______.")
New Forge Objects
- Guardians (death barriers) spawn them and size them like a koth hill or a respawn area)
- Time Filter (edit the time of day)
- Weather Filter (some sort of weather modifier)
- Sizable Filter (size the filter so it only applies to a specific area)
- More Custom Powerups (edit their traits separately from the main yellow one)
- Openable and Closable Doors/Gates (like the ones on standoff, but closable)
- Destructible Walls (normal foundry walls, but would crack and eventually break)
- Ladders
(who cares if the animation looks crappy? they would be great for gameplay)
- Trees
- Dead Characters (such as marines, elites, brutes, etc.)
- Wrecked Pelicans and Phantoms (maybe like 1 or 2 per map to avoid overloading)
- Red and Blue (green, orange, etc...) Banners (for marking each team's base)
- Breakable Glass Windows
- Roads (for racing maps
)
- Non Detachable Machine Gun Turrets + Plasma Cannons
- Weapon Drop Pods (that actually contain weapons)
- Shade Turrets
- Jackal Sniper Towers
- AA Wraiths
- Troop Warthogs
(currently impossible to sit in the rear, but for future games maybe?)
- Snowmen L0L
- Computer AI (bungie confirmed impossible, but you never know!)
- Ammo Crates (ammunition in bulk)
- Mounted Missile Pod
These are both my ideas, and ideas of the public. I've created posts in the past gathering these ideas, this post sums it all up.
Oh, and for those of you who have been asking, x Foman123 x replied to this post on page 28. Here is what he said:

For that update, I'd pay 3000 points.
I'd also like to see an outdoor, no-ceiling, large-map version of Foundry. NOTE: THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENING, THEY'RE JUST SUGGESTIONS TO BUNGIE. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you did NOT flame this thread. I know for a fact that quite a few of you will want to say stuff like, "GRUNTS?! Are you kidding me?!" or, "This is all impossible to program," or, "I don't use forge but i'm posting here anyway." Please refrain from doing so. We want to see positive comments if you're going to comment at all.
