Think about it for a second. Map creating tool?
Okay, Bungie have created the Maps on the disk, and 7 multiplayer maps which are stored on the Hard Drive.
It gives a point for everyone to load something from. The disk or the Hard Drive.
Creating a MapMaker makes it so that the creator only has that map on their hard drive or memory unit. Lets say the Heroic Map Pack was about 700MB of Data, for 3 maps. That's working on an average of about 233MB per Map correct? Now lets say you create a map that's small and roomy at about Foundry size, that's about 233MB of data that has to be loaded from you to however many different people that are in your party. Which could be up to 15 other players.
233 x 15 = 3495MB
Which works out at about 3GB that has to load from one person. Not to mention if we could download from our peers a map. Then why do we get the message 'One or more users does not have the maps required to play this playlist'.
Sure that's because Bungie might be out of a job if they let us do that but still, that's still talking alot of Bites flowing around in Cyberspace. Now your probably screaming at your monitors right now 'But we still have file shares!'
Good point, we do have file shares. But at an average of 233MB per map, even if you have Bungie Pro that's only one map your allowed to put in your file share, plus the download time for your friends. Then there is always physical space. Now most of you have a 20GB HDD for your 360, of which 13GB is usable. If you have say 4 maps on your Hard Drive. That's a GB right there! You'll be having to clear space every few weeks!
As a side note: Bungie only allow us 100 spaces for our Custom Content, of which could be about 25 screenshots, 25 movies and film clips, 25 gametypes and 25 maps. Now imagine that you've also got Custom created maps to throw in there, that could easily fill up 2 slots maybe 3 per map. Before you know it all your space will be filled by Maps!
Ask yourself, now don't you feel silly?
