Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Microsoft designs are often flawed, sorry.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

It says "Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit". Not "Windows Play & Charge Kit".

Just buy the wireless adapter. It's $20 or less.

A lot of products they make are compatible. Just not the play and charge kit because of what its name states.

You PLAY while it CHARGES! It's nothing more than a power cord. The controller still operates via wireless with the 360.

Are you a dropout? You know I'm just curious because you sure don't seem to be very good at comprehending what is being said here.

Does it explicitly state on the package that it supports Windows XP/Vista?

What a witty retort to Obi Wan.

It still isn't like a wired controller. A wired controller has more than a power cable in the cord.

I'll recap for you. GUN MAN here thinks the Xbox 360 wireless controller should be compatible with a Windows PC. AJ has stated in this thread and another thread that it IS indeed compatible, but an adapter is required. Unfortunately Gun Man can't seem to understand the fact that anyone with a half decent working knowledge of Windows knows how to configure said controller. Anyways, I'm getting tired of trying to reason with the offspring of a brother/sister marriage. So I'm going to go for a cruise.

...The fact that the Xbox 360 controller, my favorite gamepad of all time, is compatible right out of the plastic to be played for the PC and the Xbox 360 (the wired one, that is) is good enough. Although Microsoft is far from perfect, there's really nothing more you could ask for. You either buy the wired version or the wireless with an adapter. It's only reasonable. You need a wireless adapter because PCs weren't meant to respond to these signals; how could they even pick them up? They're not Xbox 360s.
