How can bungie have so few resources for web programing? that seems absurd to me. How many copies of H2 were sold now?
Bungies website aint their main concern, it's making great games. And the small staff is mainly cause all the people on it are good at what they do like Marty O Donnel, Jason Jones, the writer guy now has us all guessing what his symbolism is now...

I read it, and I am not arguing for nor against it.
It's very similar to a proposed "karma" system that was mentioned by Achronos (and Sketch too if I recall) as a possibility that was being "considered" for Bungie.Net.
Such ranking and feedback systems are helpful and work beautifully if the membership is calm, rational and reasonable. Those are traits that I like to see in every Bungie.Net member, but I am often saddened when I don't see it.
does the mean me? Oh yeah you might not want to ever go to new mombasa again if that saddens you, you might get deppressed and commit suicide...

The problem with any publicized ranking (rating, feedback, karma, whatever) system is that as soon as it's operational parameters are understood, a small group of people are more than happy to exploit it for their own personal gain. No system is without flaw, and whenever the thresholds, scoring and consequences are clearly laid out, people spot and take advantage of those flaws..
he's right about the personal gain thing, the whole system could work but if i know this site, which of course i practicly don't, then I think it would cause more harm and bannings then it would cause happiness and rejoiceing Karma will die out when mods get pissed enough with it and realize it will fail eventually just like democracy without socialism put into it.

It's one of the reasons that I respect XBL's decision to not explain the inner workings of their feedback system. By keeping as much of a "black box" as possible, they are keeping everyone guessing as to how it works. People can say that they "know" how the XBL feedback system works, but at best, they are only making educated guesses and in most cases they are rampantly speculating.
If a member ranking system is deployed at Bungie.Net, I would be somewhat surprised. Currently there are only 3 main "levels" of membership: Bungie employee, forum moderator, Bungie.Net member. Yes, I know, there are some specialized ones, but I said "main levels". By not having tiers or levels, everyone is "judged" based on what appears to the right of their member name. I get the impression that Bungie is not enamored with the idea of creating a caste society amongst the fan community.
If a karma (or other) ranking system were to be used, I would imagine that the desired goal (of Bungie) would be for it to be as invisible and as non-intrusive as possible. Negative feedback might restrict a member from certain functions, positive might allow additional features, but I do not believe it would be shown next to their avatar as a sort of "rank" or "badge". The post count feature (for the short time it was accidentally left "on") was a good example of why that is not (IMO) how Bungie wants their fans to see/view each other.
Ranking should be left the XBL and bungie forums don't need ranks. Ranks make a forum a thing of a game where the most populer person wins. In that case almost half of this place would side against the other half instead of just plain arguing, I like it better when everyone is in a communist form of government with the SS just minutes away.... My dream land..., yeah well this forum is notorius for arguing so karma would never work, I mean hey, i respect it where it does work, but thats probably not here. These forums are not a game, they are a matter of life and socialist death...... DAMNED BE THE WESTERN POWERS!!!
