I signed on to my Bungie login the other day and have noticed a gamertag linked to my name. I never linked any gamertag to my Bungie profile and I don't even know this gamertag! Could anyone tell me how someone linked their gamertag to my Bungie.net profile? Wouldn't they have to know my Net Passport and password to link their tag? I don't think they got a hold of my email and password, but I'd like to know how someone managed to do it. Maybe it was a network error or something, but any moderators plz if u can give me a response. its been linked to my profile for some time now and i want to find out why this happened!

Try to edit your net passport settings. Gamertags are not a part of bungie that is actually XB0X LIVE and net.passport is runned by MSN.com. Bungie just uses the netpasport to track login names and gamertag stats. You won't find the soltion to that problem on Bungie.net. You should try MSN's or XB0X LIVE's website to fix the problem.

Another note change your password. Obviously someone else has acess to your passport and can login on your net.pasport acount. You better get on it quick because who knows what other damage they can do.

i just wanted to know how this really happened because i dont think anyone got a hold of my password. maybe it was a network error or something, i just wanted to know.

to find out more i even sent a friend request with my real gamertag to the guy who's linked to this account, and sent him a message asking what happened. i've only gotten one message from him saying that he has no idea how it happened...

anyways thx for the response im going to change my password.

Issues like this should be sent to bnetbugs@microsoft.com to have any chance of getting a response. But yeah, change your password.

And, you should probably link the proper gamertag in there by using xbox.com... it should just overwrite it if you link a new one. You might have to talk to their support to get it unlinked (since that's all done on their side, not ours).

I still don't see why people need "help from moderators"...

Hrm.

Because we aren't good enough, lol. Who knows, they're new and the only people they think they can trust are the mods.

I've noticed the clan name... Wookie Warriors.. I was at a friends when he had to play this clan in a clan match, as soon as the flag got touched when it was being well protected in the base it was scored.. I'm wondering if this clan not only cheats on halo but hacks e-mails as well... Well at least your account is all fixed up
