Yeah, after I saw RE:4, I'm also thinking about getting a 'Cube. That game looks amazing. But, I'm getting a 'Cube for the new Zelda game, which will rock all sorts of socks off.
That being said, I'm probably not gonna get a PS2 until the summer, when I can work longer hours for more days and therefore increase my cash flow. Plus, I'm gonna need to finish Full Spectrum Warrior, Republic Commando, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory before I start on the rest of the games I wanna play.
But I'm definitely getting a PS2 in the future, for the Ratchet and Clank series and for MGS:3. GTA: SA is coming to Xbox, but I'm not even sure I care about the GTA series enough to wanna buy it.
The 'Cube, though, is kinda weird. Nintendo went downhill after the SNES because they keep pissing off developers with their unhealthy need to be different. As a direct result of the N64, Nintendo doesn't have a very big game library (well, relative to PS2 and Xbox) because most developers don't like making games for Nintendo. So, there isn't much selection of decent games to choose from. Thankfully, they're cheap and SSB:M, MGS: Twin Snakes, and the new Zelda are worth buying a system for. Outside of that, though, I personally don't think there's anything else really that great on the little purple box. An almost complete lack of online games because Nintendo thinks that gamers supposedly "don't want to play on the internet against each other" is not only the second dumbest mistake they've ever made (the first was when they backed out of the PlayStation project at the last possible second, creating a competitor that now dominates the game market), it will be the downfall of the company if they don't change their policy.
But, still, PS2 has some awesome games that I never thought would be good.
