Its very intresting stuff. I agree with you thus far if I had the mental capacity or the strength and time to commit to this then I would defentaly study this area, but I dont and Quantum Physics is a huge pain in the ass if you dont have time or the mental capacity to learn this much (I do but Id rather waste it on Government, Politics, and Economics). Id love to though after I learn/take all the the AP Government, Politics, and Economy classes in my high school. I dont think they offer this course in high school though. Poor me. Meh maybe ill stop by Princeton U and take it over there. Hmm the more I think about it the more intresting it becomes.

Not sure how factual it is, but Michael Crichton's book "Timeline" had a lot of cool background on quantum computers.

Timeline was an awesome book. I hated the movie though, they just took out all of the quantum stuff becuase your average american probably wouldnt understand it. Man, people are dumb.

Anyone read the December 2004 issue of Discover? The article about escaping the end of the universe in 7 steps?

I didn't yet, but I will.

You won't regret reading it. I found it very interesting. I reposted it in my group. Yes, this is partially a cheap ploy to get more members for intellegent discussion. But do read the article when you get a chance.

I think I read that article, also I got a nifty book called "Introducing Quantum Mechanics" for christmas and have been reading all about Bohr, hiesenburg and thre rest. It's pretty cool.

Who's the author? I'd be interested in trying to find a copy.

It's part of a series of books on all different topics called "Introducing". The author appears to be either J.P. McEvoy or Oscar Zarate. The book basically walks you through the basics of quantum theory with some equations and some charicager drawings of scientists and diagrams and such.

amazon lets you read the first few pages to see if you're interested

P.S. this was a good book for me because I'm 14. It was somewhat of a challenge the first run through for me.
