www.thegtc.com

the halo v-games regionals when i went in columbus last week consisted of two seperate tournaments. 2vs2 team slayer double elimination, and FFA Slayer with four people per map (again double elimination).

General idea is each team gets a tv and and xbox to themselves, and if it's 4 man free for all, then everyone has their own tv. Generic weapons, standard equipment. Slayer should not be played on boarding action, sidewinder, or blood glutch, people also don't tend to favor chiron.

they had a rotation with the maps. So say it was team slayer.

Set 1 maps
team 1 vs team 2 - longest
team 1 vs team 2 - damnation
team 1 vs team 2 - battle creek

Set 2 maps
team 3 vs team 4 - wizard
team 3 vs team 4 - derelict
team 3 vs team 4 - hand em high

Set 3 maps
team 5 vs team 6 - rat race
team 5 vs team 6 - chill out
team 5 vs team 6 - prisoner

Set 4 maps are the same as Set 1 maps

then you basically alternate them around so that people aren't always playing on the same 3 maps they did last time. After that, may the best man, men, woman, women or he-she's win :P

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Gametypes and rules vary depending on who is hosting it. I've been to over 7 and only won 2 with my team, the rest we lost to really good players in the semi-finals. Turnies are great because you get to meet and play some of the best around the area. Just go in with a positive attitude and don't be bitter if you lose. You can only learn from each event.

All inviso players too. Right ninja?

I was just at MLG on saturday. For those out of the tournament loop that's Major League Gaming....very big thing they have going on. All tournaments vary in rules and setup. At this one they first have a tournament of 8 man FFA games, if people win their bracket they move on, all the winners form another bracket and so on until it's 1v1 for the winner. Next, they took all 4 man teams and split them in half, and a had a 2v2 tournament. As far as levels, the first round of this 2v2 tourney was all played in Longest. This is just what it happened to be, other tourneys will vary. After the 2v2, they hold a 4v4, which is where the real $$$$ is. Several thousand dollars can be won at MLG's events.
