I think he is speaking in that language I just discovered. I believe I named it Ignorance.
Look, Bungie puts out the weekly update. The game is not even to beta stages. And, your intellectual incapacity seems so strong that everything that I am going to say will go right over your head.
Games are built upon the rough and sand principle. The creation of a game works upon creating a list of features and a basic story line. Framework is laid out. Welded roughly, and desiging the actual components begins.
Once the storyline is worked out, artists make renditions (some feel comfortable with paper and pen and others like keyboard and mouse) to display what they think levels should look like. Changes are made, suggestions are made, and the writers, and the artists come to conclusions. A very generic non texturized design is made.
Each artists with their repective talents, some for textures, some for three dimensional models work together to create each level. As it progresses they go through several builds of levels until they reach one some call "Functionality point one" or FP0.
What this means is that the basic geometry of the level is complete. Texture artists can now begin their work, coders can work on any type of lighting and other effects needed in the level. The geometry men (as i like to call em) Soup up some good o'l calculus (its not for uu its for ooos) and start adding details. Texture artists also start the bump mapping. A lot of these guys have a wide range of talent, so their jobs overlap.
Each developer chooses its own method to the madness to get to completion. Bungie likes to do a little work on everything and keep on chipping at it. Because of that they have a much more solid release schedule. (halo 2 was only delayed for a year) For every E3 they work their ass off on what they want to show off, for E3 this year they had to make the game engine function only as Zanzibar, really tough work. As far as I can see (And obviousely my intellectual capacity far exceeds yours) there were no visible eye gapping bugs. Obviousely there were performance enhancements to be made, but those things are left as the LAST thing to do.
I could continue, but generally, in development progression you have Alpha, Beta, Release Candiates 1 through technically infinity, and Gold. Each one represents a stage of completion.
In conclusion, there are many people smarter than you or I. (Add a few billion to you) Einstein found relativity, oppenheimer and his crack team harnessed the power of the atomic force directly using Mass to create energy, a man named Edison invented the light bulb. All of these people were at the peak of their fields, they created things that work.
Trust, have trust in the people that make great things. Seeing as Bungie has had a less cramped schedule in comparison to Halo 1, trust that they will make the best game they possibly have. Trust is the key to everything. IN conclusion to my concluding paragraphs, if you are to stupid to make it, shutup and let the big boys handle the big toys.
