Random killing games take more skill than objective, tactical based games? That's odd. For me it has always been alot harder and requres alot more tactical thinking to penetrate a heavily defended enemy base, staying inside said base for 20 seconds in the most defended place while you arm a bomb. For me, Team Skirmish = requires more intelligence, tactics. Team Slayer = requires more skill, the ability to dominate your opponents.
What I disagree on is saying that Slayer is useless in determining if a person should join a clan or not. In my clan anyways, in minor clan matchs we have 4 people, 2 who can get objectives done fast and efficiently, and 2 who can just dominate everyone. The 2 who get objectives done typical get the flags and plant the bombs, defend the base and grab the rockets. The slayer lovers typical just make the enemy die. Alot. When we are defending, they are the ones who go out and kill the enemy. Usually they dont get bomb plants, but end up with 20 or 30 kills. So who is more valuable? The objective people can't get there job done unless the slayer folk do there job. And the slayer folk wont win if the object folk don't do there job. I would say it is safe to say that this game is dynamic enough for everyone to do what they do best, and that most clans will find a spot for your particular brand of playing.
