i go without sleep somewhat often. when i was younger, i did it just to see its effects. now sometimes there's just too much to be done (recreationally), or i just don't feel like spending the time in bed. the last time i did it was inadvertently, as i downed two 2-liter bottles of mountain dew in a 45 minute span, not too long before i intended to hit the sack. the real interesting hours come at around the 20-24 hour mark for me. my brain kind of shuts part of itself down, and there's this humming sound in the background. just be careful about missing too much sleep. quincy jones would go for days (6 or 7) without sleep. he wound up having two aneurysms in his brain. but hell, he was probably on crystal meth or something.

i sleep no more than an hour a night. not good for me, but i hate sleep. rather be playing a cool new game or watch tv or something. oh yea, and sometimes visit the forums.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Well, last week when I had double shifts at work... I slept on avg. maybe an hour or less a day. I started seeing things and hearing -blam!-ed up crap.

I have no trouble sleeping, I took a nap yesterday afternoon(sunday) from 3-6pm, then proceeded to go to bed at 10pm, and slept till 8:30am this morning.

Life is good.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

ObbiQuiet... you poor, poor insomniac...

I'm kinda the same way... well, I guess, used to be... I've been sleeping more now (but ironically, now that I can sleep... I find myself not wanting to (but too tired not to)).

Yeah, I like both....sleep and no sleep.

Sleep is cool because you get really cool dreams....last I night I had a really realistic halo dream

No sleep is cool because you appreciate a 24 hour day so much more. and you also get to apprectiate sleep when it happens

Ack, I know what you're talking about- the messed up crap, anyway. I sometimes just fail to sleep for no known reason despite wanting to sleep and knowing that I have to... the hallucinations are soo annoying 'cause you can't function properly and get much of anything done. I usually end up sitting here by my computer since most activities are dangerous in such an altered state of consciousness...

Now that it's summer and I'm jobless again I can recline the La-Z-Boy, load up the warez, and switch on the A/C. Basic life support is necessary. If I'm doing something fun caffeine can be used as a substitute for sleep.

I could work for that natural selection company if I thought it would jump off the ground quickly. Basically being their 'Studio Manager'.

Lol, I guess typing that wasn't very pleasant. Seriously, though, my hat's off to you if you really can spend a week without any sleep and not experience unpleasant effects!
