Subject: Sergeant Johnson and the Flood: The Beginning of the End

I just thought of something that may be connected to Johnson's situation. In the new Halo 2 MP demos we see that their is no health bar. Also, in one of the more recent updates they talk about changing some of the things we were used to, in particular the HUD, and that it works better than before. Maybe their is no health bar, and this is stretching it a bit, because ONI or Dr. Halsey figures out how to use Johnson's regenerative process on the MC. It may work kind of like your shield. After taking damage, it would take a few minutes to for you health to replinish. This may be stretching it a bit, but it could explain the new HUD.

"Damian got CENSORED with AI working, it’s fun, but we run the risk of having CENSORED turn into a CENSORED. A CENSORED with attitude,"

I pulled this from the current update and I found it to correlate with the good old Serg. Johnson. Fill in all the CENSORED spaces with Sergent Johnson or Flood. The jury's still out on if Johnson will or won't eventually become a Flood form, but it just so happens that he fits into these statements quite well. A Flood with attitude... that fits Johnson perfectly:)

When will you people learn that war IS a game?

Not be a stingy or anything Eagle but the gameplay trailer wasn't a final version. First of all being there were no grenades you could see when he threw them. Secondly he reloaded once throughout the entire thing. And lastly the smg look snothing like it did then. If you have seen the new E3 2004 trailer you can see that it is quite different. So you can expect that they would't bother putting a life bar in to an unfinished trailer

Eagle, every time I read one of your theories, I am amazed that I didn't think of that before! And unlike most of the other theories on the forums, yours make sense.

Keep up the good work, I'm behind you 100%.

Not in that way....

According to Bungie,
The sarge will always be part of the game. In tru7h he always has. You can kill the bastard(Not insulting him) a billion times and guess what....He always comes back...Yet even in the beginning of the game, say in The Pillar and Halo, he was not infected yet he would come back. So, in the long run the Sarge is the one, he is GOD!

Bungie DID remove the HEALTH BAR and they said NO HEALTH PACKS since your shields DID get upgraded.
So in theory, that COULD be correct

There is no way for Bungie to account for the countless times that one of the 4 million kids who owns Halo kills Sergeant Johnson. This is why there is a seperation of gameplay (randomly killing Johnson, or the Covenant killing him during battle) and the storyline.

Think of it like this, Keys is dead!

We all know this to be a fact because there are specific events IN THE STORYLINE that lead to his death. The storyline shows that Sergeant Johnson has Boren's Syndrome. Because of this disease, Johnson is able to survive the same flood attack that leads to Keys death. Again, there is a seperation between the storyline and gameplay:)

Yes, but that was during gameplay, and not a part of the storyline. I'm sure you ( the Master Chief ) were killed by the Covenant on multiple occasions during gameplay also, but the storyline was not affected by that:)

Opinions are like arseholes - everybody has one.

Knowledge is knowing Tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

There is no such thing as a bad decision, only good decisions based on flawed information.

Sorry if anybody has already posted this, it just came to me. The dead flood DNA in Sgt. Johnson gives some regenerative abilities, yes? Well, maybe it's tring to cure Sarge of Boren's Syndrome so that a second attempt at infection would be successful. Obviously he couldn't spontaneously transform into a combat form because there aren't and infection forms (yet).

I believe that because he is resistant to it that he will be unstoppable to the flood, because they can only hurt him on the outside (guns and whacking and such) but they canot interface with his body, but the cheif is suseptible (untill Halsey contains it to make serum) so I think that Sarge and the Cheif will be working together alot in Halo 2. Sarge cant be infected so the Cheif covers him from phisical harm form the Flood while intern Sarge helps by putting himself between the Cheif and infection form flood so they canot get to him.

That's actually a very interesting way of looking at things.

Good input:)

heres a theory, while i agree Sgt Johnson not turning into a flood but there is still a possibility when he dies flood genes might change his organs into infection forms

You guys listen to the Halo2 voice outtakes, go to the Sgt. Johnson spittake, and you hear him say "What?! I'm dying again!" . Meaning that he might be cured from the Boren's, and then the Flood DNA try to kill him....again.

It could be that your health regenerates along with your shields, considering that eagle said Dr. halsey and the dudes at ONI found a way to incorporate the regenerative abilities for Chief

Johnson has been infected by the flood, but the Flood genes do not take to him because he has Boren's disease. The flood genes lie in a state of hibernation, if you will. Johnson becoming a Flood isn't the threat. The threat is that Johnson may unknowingly spread the Flood DNA to others.

lets just hope srgt johnson doesnt't score with the ladies in halo2. and he might! in one of the halo2 voice outakes he was talking about scoreing with some women and what his prefrences are.
