and if u you know hackers (as i do) you know there smart enough to change all the info right when they get, so you cant do crap. The best way to prevent ur xbl from getting hacked, make 2 live ids, and change ur xbox live id back and forth every month, so they cant change it.

One does not simply walk into Halo.

This is a brilliant thread and useful, something similar to this happened to my friend already except that they actually stole his XBOX, he had to freeze his account, so now he doesn't even want to have a 360 anymore.

And btw, if you had already entered your information on a website that says it gives out free microsoft points, then you had better change your information quickly. Otherwise you have to take action and precautions.

Make sure the password includes numbers and letters. And mix it up a bit. To make the best password, max out the characters that can be used! This will assure the safest password you can use. But you can never be 100% safe from hackers!

Actually some people resort to doing stuff like this

akdfjffu0euj3hr3hr43r43r34t0094ergvi0d0-wiscuf89vb87gfbvf8d9q w9fd8d7syftv8cst8c99hjr32

Long Passwords, which can give probably even 100% safreness, but not always safe.

Icecreammyman777453

this is ok, it is a little hard to break

452937778654123456890989054678343

number passwords are good too, but only if they were this long

sjfioueufejfjerf8he9fj943hr92jfo3jnguh4gjf23emu234fh9ejromv ehuvofhfknervuhoewpdm

Randomly typing can be good, but i seirously doubt anyone can remember what they have typen

hiiambobwouldyouliketoplayhalolokbyeihavetogotomyhousebutwill seeyoutommorrow777

if you can remember the sentence, that can also be good

These are my thoughts on long passwords, if you ever resort to actually doing that.

Good tips, OP. But you'd have to act fast, and they usually do it while you are offline.

Informative and practical. Nice job.

But if you give some examples as to how they were hacked in the first place then people might successfully prevent it from ever happening.

It's not the fall that breaks you, It's the sudden Stop.

This is very good, my friend. Kudos to you!

If I may ask, could you post some ways to prevent the hack in the first place? It'd be even more helpful! Thank you!

yeah I've heard of ways but i don't know how

  • 01.19.2009 8:13 PM PDT

A tragic accident happened, when a plane carrying cans of tuna crashed into the ocean. Investigators believe something smells fishy, while the sea creatures have finally realised that their comrades weren't really on holidays.

i guess the best way to avoid being hacked is to keep your nose clean and your head low. But if you're the victim of a random attack, then you have the OP's aforementioned guide, and the useful replies.

Just be careful I guess...

I am as good as I am because I have something called "natural talent". I could be pro at many games, but I choose to have a social life. I don't care if you are better then me in a video game because it does not mean anything in the real world. If you think bragging about video game stats and levels means something, you are wrong. People that cry over me being better, grow up and stop the hate.

This doesn't work if they change the email and the personal information linked to the account.

If at first you don't succeed, call in an airstrike

Well this is saved. Good job man ;)

You don't kick a man when they're down, so don't teabag me when I'm dead!

I stupidly gave my Xbox Live account details away to a "Free M$ points!" site. I never got hacked, and this was in November last year (I guess because there is nothing valuable about my account, they didn't nick it). But now I'm worrying. They might suddenly steal it.

If you ever get a message saying about free M$ points, and at the end of the message it says something like "This works I can confirm this", message them back and ask them to send a message to all of their friends to ignore all messages from them regarding free points. It's fake no matter what. Unless they send you a voice message, it's 100% fake EVERY TIME.
