you guys know halo 2 isn't all earth related, right?
"Take the player from the ruins of Halo to these ancient forerunner facilities in the atmospheres of gas giants, its sort of a galactic rom from one place to the next, and i think that of its self is going to keep the player on the edge of his seat wondering where am i going to be, and what do i get to do when i get there." Once said by Joseph Staten, Writer/Cinematics Director of Bungie.
Now, I dont think bungie will waste much time in a little town with dirt, rocks, and wood. When they can do all that.

Well and here is our first taste of the European and Canadian racism against Americans. Brace yourselves boys; they've seen the media's campaign of fear and consumption, the actions of our "elected" officials, and the stereotypes of fat stupid Americans (well, we must be to "elect" these people) and now they're discriminating against us based on nationality. Oh well, not that I give a -blam!- what some Canuck or Frenchman thinks. It's his opinion, and he's entitled to it, but this kind of bias is not any better than the bias some harbor against black people. Face it. Stereotypes are wrong - stop believing the media and recognize that Americans aren't as stupid as they are depicted, even if their government is.

I'll drink to that...even the governmant part.

Houston sucks. I live there. I repeat. Houston sucks. Please covenant, nuke Houston. Houston sucks.

That being said. There is a city in Halo 2, as you can see i nthe trailer there was a whole lotta nukes going off on the planet so its anybodies guess as to which city survived or not.

And in addition, HOUSTON SUCKS.

okay, im an american, and i have this theory, which i call the Geographic Principal of -blam!-holes, and it clearly shows that most of America is a -blam!-hole, excluding the north east, and some of the west coast. now I realize that bungie is in west virginia, i think, and, as you see, west virginia is not a -blam!- hole. neither is some of new york. Boston is not a -blam!-hole, and neither is most of california, however, as i'm sure anyone who lives in LA will agree, LA is a -blam!-hole.

For one thing this is in the year 2552, so i'm sure many cities would hav changed drastically (except from a few landmarks) by 'Halo 2' and another thing, why just the US? The covenant are invading the whole world, how about some other major cities?

Well, i hate to burst ALL of your bubbles, but this is the most LOGIC course

Since the covenant GLASS planets (ex. Reach), why would they waste their time on earth fighting a ground war?

They have obviously won space supremancy if they can land a crusier.

So, the only logic reasoning is this...

1) New Mombasa (or Africa) has a forerunner artifact, and thus the covenant dont want to GLASS it. They want to recover it.

2) The Rest of the World is pretty much GLASSED, unless there are most forerunner artifacts hidden on the surface.

the only reason why they dont do that is because, when they get ready to glass a planet, they have to take down all there sheilds, and when they do that, the humas could just nuke the crap out of them, thats why they have to kill everything first

Personally I'm wondering where the hundreds of thousands of Cold War nukes have gone. Detonating them in orbit would destroy _any_ Covenant force if you got the timing right.

The Earth location I'd most like to see in Halo 2 is the Austrailian outback.

HELL NO!

Come on People, the Halo Universe takes place 548 years in the future. There is world peace, colonies on distant worlds. There would be no such thing as America, Canada, France, or China. New York might still exist but i doubt it. NY, WashingtonDC, Baltimore, and Jersey would all be one city at that time. But I believe that in the Halo Universe, that Earth suffered a 3rd world war, destroying much of the major city centers. And they have built up again, But none of the Major Cities of our world would be left standing. In the Halo world there are Humans, the Covenant, and the Flood. That is all, there is no such rivalries like there are today. Basically, think of the Babylon5 universe, but with a different set of Aliens.

WTF? have you not read any of the books? There are rebel colonies of humans (and probably covenant alike). And there would be need for country names and city names... possibly to know where you are... did you think of that Rasterburn?

EVERYONE KEEPS SAY "NO AMERICA IS TOO MODERN, LETS HAVE A LEVEL IN NEPAL, OR EGYPT, OR CANADA" WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT IN 500 YEARS, THOSE PLACES WONT BE HUGE, LIKE NEW MOMBASA, AND MAYBE AMERICA, IS JUST AS BIG OR NOT AS BIG, WHO CARES., I AM AMERICAN, AND ALOT OF PEOPLE ON HERE SAY WE ARE ARROGANT, AND SELF ABSORBED, WELL I WOULD DEFINITELY AGREE WITH YOU BEING THAT MY WIFE IS FOREIGN AND I GET A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE THAN SOME AMERICANS, HOWEVER, WE ARE ARROGANT AND SELF ABSORBED FOR A REASON, THE AMERICAN ECONOMY WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT DRIVES THE WORLD ECONOMY IN SEVERAL AREAS (NOT ALL) AND ALSO AMERICA FOOTS THE BILL FOR MOST MAJOR EVENTS BE IT WAR, OR AID, OR HUMANITARIAN NEEDS FOR THE WORLD. ITS A FACT. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. AMERICA IS NOT THE GREATEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO ALL, BUT IT IS TO SOME, AND YOU SHOULD RESPECT THAT. YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY THAT IS WHY YOU DEFEND IT, BUT DONT BE PISSED WHEN AMERICANS SHOW THE SAME LEVEL OF LOVE FOR THEIR COUNTRY.
