i was reading an earlier thread on forunners and realized why they cant be found! Because the Halo rings have already been used before, thus killing all the forunners. this is why the flood are found in the rings, they were hybernating until something woke them up on Halo, they are proboly still hybernating on the other Halo's in the galaxy. the forunner died hundreds of thousands of years ago (maybe millions, giving life enough time to start over and evolve into humans covenant ect.), but the flood are still here, hybernating, ah ha!

but the guilty spark was designed to control the flood so they had to have been around while the forerunners were around.

if the flood evolved on Halo then the guilty spark would not have known about them, its his job "to contain the flood"

343 Guilty Spark said that there was a catastrophic outbreak a long time ago. It has been said before that the Forerunners are a long-dead race. The outbreak could have been their demise; what with the rings being activated and whatnot.

It is never said that the forerunners are dead. On top of that if the rings had been activated it would have killed everything on the ring as well that includes the flood so I am not sure where you got your misconstrued infomation but it was bad.

P.S. getting Info on this forum is usually a bad idea most of the people here are just talking out of there arses unless they have been here along time I would not listen to anything and I am not saying just because someone has been here along time they know what they are talking about because some of them don'nt either

The Flood is a parasitic disease. The Halo rings were constructed by the Forerunners to contain the disease. Nobody knows for sure what happened to the Forerunners, but the Flood would not be killed by the Halos. The Halo system was designed to kill the Flood's food. In other words, every sentient creature of sufficient biomass within a 50,000 light year sphere would be destroyed.
Of course 343 Guilty Spark was created by the Forerunners. It was created to contain the Flood and make sure they were never released. Its other purpose was to help the "Reclaimer" to activate the Halo system.

Halo kills everything including the flood Cortana says "Halo does'nt JUST kill the flood it kills everything" and 343 guilty spark says "that is true after activating the halos the galaxy would be quite devoid of life or at least anything with sufficient biomass to sustain the flood"

Now cortana says it like it does kill the flood and 343 guilty spark does not dispute her claim

actually she says it doesn't kill the flood it kills their food thus starving them and if the forerunners had activated the halos then yes the flood would have starved and not be there in Halo 1
i know that level where they say that...he also says that this installation has an effective range of 25,000 light years and once the others follow suit this galaxy will be quite devoid of life

A superior race, such as the Forerunners, would have created ways to survive. They wouldn't just let themselves die due to their own creation. Installation 04 has a radius of 25,000 lightyears, so the Forerunners would only have to get outside that area to survive. Mainly, Installations aren't enhabited by Forerunner civilians. They'd be off on the Forerunner homeworld, etc.

Even before they got here they were probably fighting a technologically advanced sentient version of the Flood that had been allowed to expand unchecked for millions of years before meeting the Forerunner. It was an equal enemy. So, they fought for a while then said "screw it," and fired the Halos. Personally, I think they've transcended the physical world and now are on a differant plane of existence, like ghosts or spirits.

What i am wondering is what in the beggining made the covenant worship the forerunners i think that maybe the covenant are all that is left of the forerunners because of many different things maybe with all this technology they destroyed themselves thus technology had to be rebuilt and through millions of years like events in history have become things of myths even though they themselves are them.
