if you're using the default set up, stay that way.
Ive played southpaw since Halo 1 and had no problem there.
Halo 2 playing southpaw IS a problem. I've whined and -blam!-ed and moaned about it but no one has been able to answer my question.
here is the problem: Jump button is in the wrong spot.
In order to get a good jump, one has to be moving while pressing the jump button. If one is using the southpaw stick set up, the MOVEMENT stick is on the RIGHT hand.....which means you cant jump forward so easily unless you switch your LEFT hand to the RIGHT stick and then press the jump button, but by that time, you're dead. Southpaw stick users are at a disadvantage because of that split second where you've got to switch hands.
Also the zoom and crouch should switch buttons on the southpaw button layout, but it doesnt.
The only thing they did with the southpaw button layout was make the right trigger fire the left gun which doesn't make any sense.
Since the direction pad isn't used, I would have liked the option of having my jump button be UP on the D-pad.
I love Bungie. I really do. But they can be too smart for their own good sometimes.
Basically, stick to the default set up. I've tried to switch and I get owned so bad, its not worth retraining my hands.
