Le Mediocrity. It's fun when we win, and funny when we lose!

Do people ever get blacklisted permanently? I see the same people being blacklisted from time to time, but they always come back after a week or so. And yet all they do is go on flaming sprees in every single thread in the forum.

I think that can do blacklist people permanetly and temporarily.

Im not sure if the bolded words are spelled right.

They CAN be permanently banned; but only Shishka and Stosh (ultra-mods) have the power to do so. The other mods can only temp ban.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Hmm. I never knew that. I always assumed all mods had the power to perma-ban.

Then what would be the difference between Master Forum Ninja and Forum Ninja? A title? =P

You see? I don't think about these things! Al the obvious answers just escape from my brain!

I can so piss mc brother off right now, but im not going too. ill back off!

Temp ban only last 7 days i think.
permaban is forever untill they get a new computer or new account. I dont think its a Ip ban. Just a passport ban.

Actually, blacklistings can last any length of time - the standard is 7 days. What you call a "perma-ban" is actually an indefinite temp-ban.

And it isn't all that difficult for us lesser ninjas to indefinitely ban somebody. Believe it or not, stosh and Shish actually trust us. :)

Which brings us back to my original question. I wonder how come so many obvious offenders haven't received an indefinite temp-ban. I think we can all list 5-6 users who do nothing but go through every single thread and flame. And they keep coming back and back!

We keep kinda hoping that they'll figure it out.

There have been times where I blacklisted someone, realized they had been blacklisted before, and then changed their blacklist time to a month instead of just a week.

Permabans do happen, though. I've seen it firsthand. Not pretty. It's as if the person never existed on Bungie.net. Wrather frightening if you ask me. It just doesn't seem like a pleasent fate, almost like being forced to push a rock up a hill for all eternity. Now if only I could remember the name of the mythical person that was punished in that manner. zyziphus?
