wow.....what a worthless idea, i hate to be so blunt, but this is not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles where you go against Bosses and get to see how much life the boss has left

they wont do anything as stupid as that, Bungie is much smarter than that

Amen. Thats the dumbest idea ive heard from a non purpous spammer. hey, why dont we write the whole books on the screen, then make the covies die emediatly! THIS ISNT AN RPG! ITS A REALISTIC, FUTURISTIC FPS!

you dumb kid.

If you are experienced you can tell. When you are shooting them and there shields stop glowing whith each shot they are failing but you have to knock them all the way down just like on master chief.

why would knowing the health of one Elite actaully help. It wouldn't really change my tactics. Maybe it'll help the -blam!- not be scared of dieing.

If your that much of a -blam!- then be that way im not making a poll

ive explaned it to much

when you shoot them from far and you dont kill them you need to know there sheild to see if you could finish them off or they finish you off\

Yeah i dont see how this is such a bad idea you dont have to have it in multiplayer

Excuse me?

In regards to the enemy shield display, Halo simply doesn't need it. The addition of an enemy shield bar would only reduce the amount of strategy and realism. To be honest, I cannot pin point exactly why the idea is so preposterous, but it really is.

Your ranting and raving isn't going to change anyone's mind. Plus, a grenade would get the job done just as easily. It either blows them up, or scares them out so you can shoot them more. Your idea just doesn't seem to fit in with the HALO universe.

It would just clutter up the screen. It would completly ruin when there's AI hiDing.....it'd be like "I wonder if there's an ambush coming from those rocks ahead oh wait there's a shield bar so yah"

Or what if there was like 5 elites and a bunch of grunts and you cant see anything 'cuz of the bars moving around.

And, above all, it wasn't in Halo 1, no one complained, and it doesn't need to be in halo 2.

The enemies in Halo are not all that hard and it would be too much crap on the screen.

HORRIBLE! No offense intended, but that is awful. This is supposed to be a real life game. Matbe you could detect if they had a shield or not, but not what their health is at.

it would ruin it

With all of the time I have spent on Halo i can tell how many more shots i need to put into the person depending on if there shield flickers yellow or not, im sure you guys can too.
the point is, you should learn to decipher these things and be able to remember how much health they have left,

for example if you shot a person with the pistol two or three times and you have to reload, you can safely just pull out your assault rifle and finish them off because you know that their shields are gone.

remembering shield status should be the responisiblity of the player and it picked up with experience.

I doesn't matter whether they try to hide or not, in the end they all bleed the same color. right?...

Part of the strategy is knowing how much shield they have left.

I think it's funny how everyone wants a "realistic basis" for how MC would be able to read an enemy's health gauge. Who cares? The game isn't about realism! In Halo 1 we fought a war against aliens, on a ring planet that, despite being a ring shape, had day time and night time and gravity. If you can explain those things, you can come up with some far-out reasoning behind knowing an enemy's health.

HOWEVER, I also think it's a bad idea. It's simply not necessary -- it would take away from the stratefy of the battles.

Hmmm...
well there are reasons to your examples.
When it is night it is when Halo slips behind Threshold's eclipse, the nearby planet or moon of another planet not 100% sure. and vice-versa for the daytime
