We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.
Perhaps you have heard the stories. Children are being expelled from schools for bringing plainly dangerous items that were once allowed. And some teachers aren’t letting anything get in the way of following the rules; even seven year olds have been suspended for bringing small toy weapons to school! But one fact remains: not enough is being done.
We have made impressive progress in recent years in ensuring our children’s safety in school. No longer are chalk boards and erasers being used, eliminating the dangerous chalk dust that has certainly resulted in asthma attacks and death. Anything resembling a weapon has been outlawed, including such deceiving items as three inch long plastic guns. I say deceiving, of course, because such an item could clearly be a real weapon, and could very possibly be used for murder. We have begun to protect our children from serious mental harm as well. Greeting an Australian with “g’day” is an extremely racist action, and could require counseling on the victim’s part. But despite this there are still innumerable weapons, both physical and mental, in our children’s schools.
One of the most blatantly obvious issues is clothing. The numerous shades of these garments are frightening, as a color may be used in describing a person. Have we learned nothing from the Civil Rights movement? No one should have the colors white or black attached to them, nor should Asians or any other nationality have to face similar situations. The answer to this would be to have all people dye their skin green, as no human race is currently green and no one could claim that any favoritism came into play in the choice. As for physical harm that our offspring face every day, the situation is enough to make any clear minded parent blanch. There are heavy, blunt weapons such as textbooks in every room, and students are allowed to carry such sharp object as pencils, pens, and even scissors on their person! A pencil, even if unsharpened, could easily penetrate one’s skin and reach their heart, causing them to die within moments. Mechanical pencils and pens, being made of stronger materials, are infinitely worse than even pencils. And scissors, made out of the same substances that swords and daggers are, obviously are capable of the same level of harm as those implements of destruction! There is, however, one answer to all of these issues at once, one that would immediately correct them. The simple solution is to ban the children. Not only would we remove the likely aggressors, but we would also remove their victims! And with the children removed, there would be no reason for this tax drain that we call the “educational system”. We could clearly improve our world were we to abolish this travesty to civilization and remove schools from our country.

If you see a way to improve this I would greatly appreciate it.
