I was thinking that when you are fighting that the HUD should get all messed up and stuff. Since it is a helmet, stuff should get on it. There will be dirt and , and water if it is raining, or snow. It would be awesome if it ed when you are hit in the head and it would signify heavy damage. Why doesnt stuff get on the helmet in the first place? It would be (stupid I admit) cool to have windshiled wipers to clean off the facemask.

I think you have a neat idea but the gameplay would suck there is allready to much stuff on the screen I like it the way it is the last thing you want is rain or snow stuck to your mask though it is realistic this is not a simulator its a game that is supposed to be fun if they stuck everything in there that gets posted on this forum it would suck.

Keep it simple that is what made Halo so great it was fun you did'nt have to worry about a bunch of stupid -blam!- just kill your enemies, complete your mision and go home.

I say that it should happen like if you come from a pond, water would trip down your visor, and frost would fog it up.

BUT! Only have this when your shields are down. Because if theyre up the shields would repel the feeble elements am I right?.

What would also be cool to see is while frost is on your visor and your shields regenerate, the frost suddenly heats up and burns away and if you have water the shields repel it and fling the water away or evaporate it.

I guess that it would be irritating when you are trying to kill stuff, but it would add a touch of atmosphere. I like ashes idea

maybe it would be cool in a cutsceen that was in fpv, but during gameplay it could only hurt, but cool no less (in agreeance with The Duke).

It's like in paintball (For those of you that play) if you have a nice mask (Like mine) you wont want to wipe paint and risk scratching up the sefice or smudging paint (From the paintball) so I may have to play with a huge paint mark on my till I can find some water.

The MJOLNIR Armour has an energy shield surrounding it. Therefore, nothing would be able to get on the armour unless your shields went down. According to Bungie you only have 2-3 hits before you die once the energy shield goes out. So...your as good as dead.

I played paintball yeah and when paint hits your googles its totally annoying.

I think it should only happen when your shields are down though so that its just a rare, nice addition and not a constantly annoying you as you fight with them up. It would also be atmospheric and chilling to be blinded with frost while your shields are down...spooky. It would also symbolise how vulnerable you are and that if your armour cant even stop the rain from falling on your visor, its not gonna stop a bullet either. MWAHAHA!

I do play paintball its a blast but if you have a good mask then it does'nt fog up. If they can do that now in 550 years it would be even better. I have a JT thermal mask and I have played in the rain in the summertime and it won't even fog up then.

yeah, i was gonna say something like that....

His visor would have something on it to make stuff not stick....

Or instead of leaving it there, he would wipe it off, because if a bullet cant penetrate the glass, then hyis hand definitely wont scratch it...

It could be like Metroid Prime the rain would hit the visor and roll off so nothing would be in the way and snow would melt on the visor and also roll off.

  • 06.21.2004 3:23 PM PDT

exactly, droplets would fall down his visor!!!

Don't forget the visor might not actually be transparent. It coudl be entirely opaque and the golden foil that you see might instead be covering a sensor suite that feeds to the screen inside. If that were the case, a little dust, dirt, or even glob of mud might not have much effect.

I think the crap that would get stuck on you helmet (water, snow, bloody entrails) burns up/melts/gets deflected when it hits your shield.

Maybe the suit is Teflon coated, like a cooking pan.
