I managed to knock both Hunter's of the edge. It made the rest a lot easier. But i went on to get killed by the Marines.

I do the same thing to the Hunters. Fun stuff.

Edit: The topic has reached 100 pages!

Interesting find made a while ago. If you play The Ark for the first minute, go into theater mode and pan out JUST before Chief jumps off of the Pelican, you'll see a secret room below that largely resembles the room on Cortana where the Tilt skull is. It also resembles the Bridge of the Covenant Ship that Half-Jaw commands.

Yeah I saw that. It might be the room under the first area. If you clear the first area, there is a passage way leading to a locked door. The passage way starts by were the Carbine Jackals hide.

Yet again, killed by a Grunt on a Ghost. I am so bringing a Fuel Rod Gun to that area next time.

I found the Brute on the Chopper really hard to kill. Even when his armor went. I ended up jacking it but dying anyway. If only Arbiter started that level with you.

Happened to me many times. Just keep at it and try to peg them from afar if at all possible.

If you can manage to keep 2 marines alive in the area with the Prowlers, you can make them board one of the Prowlers and they'll often decimate the Chopper Brute, leaving him unshielded for an easy headshot.

I managed to keep them all alive. But by the time they weakend the Chopper, the Prowler exploded, the Marines went straight into all the enemies on the hill and ended up getting stuck by 3 Grenades. I've only reached that far twice, so I can't really judge that area yet.

I'm really going to try to get this mission done. Then I can finally stop SLASO for a while. I'll be so relived when I finish The Ark.

Just BR them from a distance, use grenades if you need to. Watch out for your Elite buddies as they're careless with their grenades. If you need to see how it's done, a couple of people here including Tyrant, Vincent, jew man man and myself have videos of us doing successful SLASO runs on our file shares. I have one for each level.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

The Tyrant

Update on the Chieftain Invincibility Glitch. Apparrently even though they are immuned to bullets post equipment usage, even they can't stand up to three blasts from the Splaser. It means letting the Marines destroy the Wraith outside which takes longer, but it works. Case closed for the Invisible Chieftain.

  • 09.01.2008 5:35 PM PDT

Well, this time around, I am not alone.

I got two extra Marines during the Prowler area, both of which decided to get in to the turret of a different Prowler. I let them stay there while I blew up three vehicles, jacked a Chopper, killed off some Brutes, killed a Grunt in a Ghost, and then cleared out the remainder before coming back to bring them with me.

Now we're in a Warthog and my passenger has a FRG.

What is the update,Vince?

I'm just exiting the wall...but I have no shields. I have a Regenerator to recover them, but I'm not sure what my course of action is going to be before the Scarab shows up, or if I should use it yet. Should I go around the bend or head straight to the tanks and sit back and watch the fight? Or perhaps heal and take a tank? I think I will heal and watch from safety.

Scarab = toast. I got a tank that was left behind after the first line cleared. But I got sneak attacked by a Chopper along with barraged by Fuel Rod shots while waiting for the Scarab to turn around. As long as there isn't a major SNAFU during the first room in the building, I should be fine. I practiced that last stretch a great deal.

Edit: I...huh? I have shields. I must have been mistaken earlier. That's a relief...

Double posting aside...I finished the Ark.

The last kill...was for anyone who has ever been annoyed by Carbine Jackals...I turned on my Invincibility within 3 feet of the last of two Carbine Jackals. He ran in fear and I slammed a Gravity Hammer down on his back.

I even did a neat little trick near the end of the level...but I don't think anyone is going to see it. The Ark took me about five minutes short of 3 hours.

I'll go in to details about it later...right now I'm tired out.

Awesome man! Can't wait to watch it. Now you've got the hardest level out of the way, all that's left is The Covenant, and it really isn't that bad.

QFT many times ive been stuck in the back by silly Elites on that level.

The part of The Storm that Im stuck at is after you kill the Wraiths and the ghosts the first time. By then all my marines are gone, and my shields are gone from fighting the ghosts.

And many times ive been shot to death by Banshees while in the Wraith. I mean WTF you dont have a chance against them without any heavy artillery.

Vince, today you have made Team CLASO proud. Congradulations on finishing the toughest level in the entire campaign!

On another bright note, I believe I have finally compiled a decent walkthrough for the Covenant. I tested it twice tonight, and both times my methods worked. It's midnight here, now, so I can't do the "important" run until tomorrow at the earliest. But hopefully it'll be up before you finish. It's pretty straight forward. The big thing to remember is to only use your laser on the tower Chieftains.

Also, bring a full Beam Rifle and fully charged plasma pistol into the citidel. It will make the Jump-Jet Brute area far easier.
