You may have a point on the Hunters, but if you have the attention of one, it is possible the other will notice you as well.

That and I don't so much wait as lure, since I know they will come after me.

If they both notice you, they will both try to shoot you. But only one will come around the corner.

You don't kick a man when they're down, so don't teabag me when I'm dead!

Thanks, lol.

You just run past most of the enemies, don't you?

Sometimes that works. But there are times when you must fight.

Not in my runs. Check out the GameVee vids. I pretty much annihilated the Flood in every area with the exception of Pelican Hill.

As will I. Need to run to Target to pick up some detergent.

  • 09.02.2008 12:55 PM PDT

The Ark...I think one of the funniest things I've heard on that level was from 343 Guilty Spark. He got hit by a Brute Shot during a fight and in a cheerful tone he says: "I'm getting -blam-slapped!"

And at one time, a Brute in the first area actually said something I hadn't heard before, and I actually found it a pretty good phrase: "If only he fought as well as he hides!"

  • 09.02.2008 1:01 PM PDT

My favourite Brute quotes are, "I excrete on you!" and "Vinicious Kinid!" (The second one is a reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

On Sierra 117 I heard a Brute say "He was my Lover!" Made me laugh.

  • 09.02.2008 1:05 PM PDT

Lol. "He was my lover!" is another favorite of mine. It's even more hilarious when it is triggered by a Grunt dying.

  • 09.02.2008 4:50 PM PDT

I'm a great guy really.

i think im guna try for slaso, or at least a few levels, i attempted floodgate today and died near the end so i'll try again 2moz... but i hope watching ur vids helps :) nice one, see how many levels i do :P

Im having major problems with The Storm and its really pissing me off. Out of the 3 times ive made it to the Scarab fight, once I was betrayed, once I was killed and once both missle pods were knocked off, totally screwing me out of any chance I had.

Most Common Problems:

Grunts Heat Seaking Sticky Nades
Ghost Guns of Death
Trigger Happy Marines
Glitches in the Level

Im serious, im pretty sure that when you turn on all the skulls, i think it also turns on the secret Friendly Fire Skull.

Friendly Fire Skull Description:
Marines will happily betray you after working your hardest at a part just for laughs. Also, turns off allies brains.

Example:
The first time I made it to the Scarab Fight, I was killed by a marine, who "accidently" shot me with a Rocket Launcher. Many times Marines seem to think that while im going to assasinate a Brute, to get shields, throwing a grenade is appropriate.

Tsavo Highway Example: When I hop out to grab the Fuel Rod, the passanger will hop in to driver seat, showing the goodwill to let me in the side seat with a big gun. Except the passanger marine is always blind, and at least 3 times hes run me over with the warthog.

But the biggest problems are with The Storm itself.

Glitches:

Problem: At the beginning of the level, sometimes the marines think its funny to hop back in the Transport Warhogs and refuse to come and fight.
Solution: Make them get out and drive the Warthog off the cliff, without you in it.

Problem: Friendly Fire Skull
Solution: None

Problem:In the first valley fight with the 1 AA wraith, after all enemies are killed and immidietly after the AA Wraith blows up, some mysterious Banshee comes out of nowhere and shoots me out of the wraith.
Solution: Hide in corner after AA Wraith blows. Keep sharp lookout for Banshee. If none, =). If there is, your screwed.

Problem: Missle Pods knocked off in Scarab Fight
Solution: Rockets- Failed....Boarding-lulz ....No possilbe solution yet.

Ill probably get back to trying tomorrow, but I put alot of time into trying to beat it today, only to fail miserably.

Ive only had one thing brighten my day, and that was when a marine said "You were kicking asses and taking names! Then you kicked names ass!"

Had to vent somewhere, so I came here.

LOL! Venus, sometimes I wonder if that's what the 14th skull really is :-)

On another note, Strategic Covenant S.L.A.S.O. is now in my fileshare and will hopefully be on GameVee soon. Vince, I know this is your last level, and you know I have tested these methods multiple times, so I hope you find this useful :-)

Ya dosent make me very happy when I go in for the beatdown to recharge and I have 5 frag grenades blow up at my feet.

I think my biggest problem is that im impatient. Many times, while doing Halo, I dies because I wanted to get into the fight rather than let the Arbiter do it.

The third time I got to the Scarab fight, I actually turned on toggle crouch, hid behind the container of assualt rifles, and walked away from my TV. Only to come back and discover both Pods were destroyed.

If I could just learn patience, I would probably be a lot better at SLASO.

  • 09.02.2008 8:39 PM PDT

So I've got a fun story for you. My tank bulldozers through the path to the Scarab, one Marine passenger with a Spartan Laser and one with a Fuel Rod Gun. I even have my Invincibility from the first tower still.

I fight the Scarabs. With the help of my Marines, the Banshees die, then one Scarab. I take to the Hornet, bringing those Marines with me. The other Scarab is destroyed.

The remaining vehicles are destroyed.

I switch my Marine for his Splazer and another for a BR. In to the citadel. Nothing can possibly go wrong at this point. I've got Invincibility!

The first area is wiped clean of all enemies. Too easy...but where are the extra two Grunts with Fuel Rod Guns? Maybe they didn't spawn. I go to the door and there they are. They both prime a Plasma Grenade and throw them at my feet. I'm too astonished to do anything and I die.

To solve that, Throw a Grenade at the Warthog, causing them to come out and fight. Happened to me aswell.

Sometimes the Grunts fall behind where the suppose to be. Just wait till you progress forward for the Arbiter to kill them.

Ouch! I know what you mean, Vince. That's why I always hang back until I'm sure all four fuel rod Grunts are dead. Actually, if you sit back long enough, the Flood can usually kill most of the enemies, including the Brutes.

Just giving you guys a heads-up, but from what I heard at PAX, there's going to be some new achievements coming out.

Including 6 Skull achievements.

We may have to redo SLASO/CLASO ;)

Maybe "skull achievements" doesn't mean new skulls, though. Think about it. Unless they recreated the campaign levels or made new ones, how would they even get new skulls in there? I'm pretty sure (or at least hoping) that this would in know way actually tamper with the number of skulls or effects, meaning SLASO itself remains the same.

I know, I'm well aware of that. I was curious as to what they actually represented, but I'm really big on theories, and I'm usually pretty accurate, so it's possible their either:

1. Jokes
2. Meta injected into the Campaign maps' code for AU2
3. Not Skulls at all
