What they said doesn't really bother me. I just think they completely missed the point of the video.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

lol. Wasn't Caine asking you about that area? XD

Those two Ghosts are the only thing that screwed me up. My first time getting past them was the first and only time I had to do it.

But I've got an idea. Take the Warthog provided after the Longsword Fighter and have one Marine with Rockets or go get a FRG. When you go up that hill, circle around the rock counter-clockwise and stop the Warthog so the passenger side is facing towards the Jackals. This means you should be by the rock. Hop out...and hopefully the Marines can deal with those Ghosts. Of course, there is that Brute with the FRG who might blow up the Warthog...

What I ended up doing in my run was driving up to the hill to trigger the Ghosts, then going back down in reverse with my Warthog angled to be in the path of their fire if I got out. For the most part, the Ghosts didn't seem to fire very much when they made an approach because of the amount of firepower they had on them as soon as they tried coming my way.

If you can, save your Regenerator for after the AA Wraiths. Preferably after going through the wall even. The AA Wraiths are a shield recovery as it is, so as long as you don't take too many chances, you should be fine.

...wait. This is kind of funny, because I was going to end my post, but then I had another idea. After you fight the two Ghosts by the Fog Skull, you could go back to that one area that you could skip. Presuming the Choppers are still there, you can lure them over (they seem to come one at a time in my experience), disable them, and use them to recover your shields.

Show me, if you don't mind, tonight. Thus far, that's really the only area in the level I'm having trouble repeating successfully. It sounds like a lot of people are having the same issue.

Hm. K.

Oh, so that stuff I did with the Spiker. I tried it on the Ark against the Hunters. They both came together, and I ended up having to grenade one off a cliff. I was trying to kill the other Hunter with the Spiker, however, gravity had other ideas...so what ended up happening was I kept shooting and hitting the Hunter until I knocked him off the cliff.

lol. Sounds like a strong case of the glitches! :-P

Message to Team C.L.A.S.O.

I'm saying no to CLASO until Strategic Ark is complete. Obviously since it's the last level for the walkthrough, and it's the longest, I need to devote as much attention to it as possible. Since I've only successfully done it once, advice for repeatable strategies from all SLASOers is highly welcome here.

With any luck, I'll be able to finish it this weekend. I'm taking a three-day weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon) and am hoping to complete it in a way that can be repeated.

After this, I will return to CLASO.

Well, not so much a glitch as a lack of room to keep hitting him around. It was inevitable that I knocked him over the edge.

Now I'm stuck trying to figure out what I want to do for a third video, if anything.

The area just before the AA Wraiths ;-)

XD

I just got stuck by a Brute in the first area, but it was worth it. He came after me, and the Brute Captain says: "Stay here, huddle close. No inappropriate touching."

lol! I first heard that line in the Motor Pool XD

Well that's odd. Somehow I got a headshot on a Brute with a Carbine without removing his armor first. Sure, I was pegging away at him for a while. I never realized it could remove the armor and kill at the same time.

I'll be getting on in about an hour. Who's up for helping me develope a better strategies for that particular area of the Ark? :-)

-I go so fast, mother nature is like "slow down!" and I'm like "-blam!- you!" and kick her in the face with my ENERGY LEGS!!!
-Like custom games, join the Universal Gametypes Group, where all games are for all maps.
-I am lawless and stealthy, I live by the sword and above the law. I am a pirateninja.

I think it's pretty safe to say that many have figured this out already, but I think its worth mentioning one more time: since the blind skull is on, you cant see your reticle, but if you put something small on your TV screen (like tape), then when its gone, you still have a marker. I find its best to make it the size of the sniper cross-hair, that way you will always be accurate.

The Ghost ambush near the cave? I'm working on it.

The Brutes seem to be full of surprises to day. One of the Prowlers come in, and the Brutes start getting out...but the driver ends up splattering one of his passengers and destroying the armor of another.

That happens to me. All the time, the Prowler splatters at least 1 Brute.

For the Cave, the best way I kill them is with the Rocket Launcher I guess. Or get a PP and use that.

  • 09.12.2008 1:13 PM PDT

I think I actually prefer my Marines to have an FRG over a Rocket Launcher. Not only does it have tracking, but I have never had one of my passengers blow me up with it.

  • 09.12.2008 1:32 PM PDT

Hmm. That ambush didn't take me out. I went about it the same way as last time. Even with no shields I lived, granted the Marines some how managed to get rid of one of the Ghosts and take it.

No need now. I racked my brain and came up with a solid method earlier. I shared it with Jew man in hopes that he'd be able to use it as well to help get him caught up faster.

At last, Strategic Ark S.L.A.S.O. is now complete, signifying all nine strategic missions.

Guys, let's celebrate by doing some Quad C.L.A.S.O. this weekend. How does tomorrow at 1pm EST sound?

  • 09.12.2008 7:11 PM PDT

Should be fine with me, but I can't play much past 5 PM or so, but I doubt that'll be a problem.
