Review on The Storm
It could just be my general approach to both levels, but I typically finish The Storm a little faster than Tsavo Highway. This instance was no exception. I'll say right out the AI, numerous in nearly every segment, was very useful and did most of the actual fighting while I just lent a helping hand. On the flip side, most of my deaths were the result of friendly frags. They made the segment after the Hunters a bit teeth grinding, so I ended up executing the survivors. Don't shoot the Chief, dammit!
But in the lake beds they were an absolute must, decimating the AA wraiths in only a short couple of minutes without my assistance at all. Guess they figured they were gonna need me for the Scarab ;-)
The ending battle took a surprise turn when the Arbiter whipped out his sword and charged in only to have the Grunts TK their own Covenant teamates by hurling plasmas everywhere. I heard the explosions, peered over the hill, and found only two Grunts, one Brute, and the Chieftian remaining (who was rather stupidly standing on top of a plasma battery). After shooting the battery, the Chieftian was launched off the cliffside. From there it was just combo-ing the remaining Brute, headshotting the last Grunts, and pouring the plasma cannon into the Artillery.
On a side note, the drones that appear between the two lake beds can be avoided completely as long as you don't kill the Chieftian and a few Covenant stragglers in the room right before it.
This was quite possibly the most fun SLASO level yet due to all the AI on AI action :-)
