Well, you get the equipment pretty much once the door to the Control Room is open. Otherwise it's not very safe to go searching around for it.

So, Johnson fell down off his perch with no weapon...and I sat there watching him try to punch a Tank Form to death. The Tank Form was ignoring him, though.

I remember watching him do that on one of my runs, I couldn't stop laughing.

Anyways I'll be getting a new xbox pretty soon. I couldn't be arsed with waiting for M$ to replace it (I can get a new one for only £40 if I trade my ipod in). Hopefully I can finally complete Tsavo and then move on to Cortana.

Just wondering, which level do you guys consider the hardest (those of you who have completed the whole campaign).

Good luck everyone. I myself have had some fun exploring Tsavo Highway. I'll probably be doing it this Friday.

Tsavo is tougher simply because it's Covenant based.

And Flood doesn't have scary blue tanks :P

Thats ok then, I suppose I should have guessed that Cortana would be easier since it's flood based.

I'm dreading levels like Crow's Nest and The Ark

If I can pull it off, anyone should :P

I personally feel that Tsavo is going to be tougher than Crow's Nest was for some reason...

Gazas managed to do Crow's Nest in a matter of days with the walkthrough. If it's working that well (better than I really hoped from what people are telling me), then you should be able to do it as well. Crow's Nest was his second mission.

Just get a plasma pistol, lure it close, shoot, then melee the brute to death :D

The vehicles, in truth (no pun intended) are what make the level easier in reality. Yes, if you aren't paying attention, a Wraith can catch you off guard, but once you obtain one, you can lay waste to everything that stands in your path.

Yeah. It's really fun though. Sierra 117 and Crow's Nest was scary. I can't say how many times I've been driving kamikaze style and survived =)

Didn't anyone like my campaign shield? I didn't spend much time on but it's still cool =)
I'm gonna make some more as well.

Holy crap this is difficult. I managed to get through Sierra 117 with MOST skulls turned on, but I died 157 times. I had Iron and Blind turned off (I know, these are the most difficult ones).

Blind isn't honestly that hard. In truth, the HUD is kind of like a crutch, and when you play extensively without it, you realize how much you really don't need it. I actually prefer it without now.

As for the hardest skulls, I vote Iron and Black Eye, Black Eye being the most incapacitating. These levels would be much, much easier if you could simply fall back into cover and heal every time you get hurt. That's simply not an option. Iron doesn't necessarily make a level hard, just long (no pun), extremely long, and sometimes annoying, but it does not effect game play.

Iron also makes you much more careful.

The Ark is the hardest by far

Here's how I would order it in diffculty.

Floodgate
Halo
Cortana
Tsavo Highway
The Storm
Crow's Nest
The Covenant
Sierra 117
The Ark

Thats my personal opinion.

  • 10.15.2008 11:45 AM PDT

Finished Halo up again. I haven't been able to find a Regenerator since that one time, but I managed to kill off the final Combat form before the Warthog run with a melee, so I had full shields for the drive. I don't think I lost them either.

That's close to what we have. I said:

1) Floodgate
2) Halo
3) Cortana
4) The Storm
5) Tsavo Highway
6) Sierra 117
7) The Covenant
8) Crow's Nest
9) The Ark

Funny how some of the most challenging missions are near the beginning of the game.

So what you guys are saying is that I shouldn't have started with Sierra 117. Also, on Sierra 117, I didn't see many opportunities to run past any enemies, I actually stayed back and tried to kill them all. Are there parts in Sierra that you can bypass?

No idea....

Well, you can't say that you "shouldn't" begin with a level, I mean, you can always change level. Most poeple say that Sierra 117 is a hard level that it would be harder if it's someone's first time.

But actually it depends. Me for example, I've comlpeted two levels, Sierra 117 and Crow's Nest. Those 2 were hard, yes, but I pulled them off as my first 2 maps. I even feel like the easier levels (Cortana, Tsavo Highway) will be more difficult for me.

You do the choice.

  • 10.15.2008 1:57 PM PDT

It takes a real person to restrain themselves.

The last fight before you go to the spark dude on the right, (facing when you come out of the building) flood usually jump up there and one drops a regenerator.

Also, do you guys use the auto turrets to help you on the Halo mission? And when they start to hurt you can you melee them and get your shields back since they are techinically enemies?

To the poster above:

The turret's aren't enemies until the return trip, so no, we don't use them. Also, check out the video posted in the OP. What you'll see is how most of us tend to tackle that battle.

Why hello there

Right I've got myself a new 360 from work (discount + trade-ins ftw) and had another go at Tsavo. Managed to reach the bit where you jump the gap in the bridge. I destroyed the 2 choppers earlier on meaning that I had to try to jump it in the hog....which I failed miserably :P

But I'm getting there, I should have this level done sooner or later.
