I love being a few steps ahead. I already approved you a few minutes ago.

oh, heh, thanky.

Well, I tryed 'The Storm' there this morning, did everything right, got all the way up to the hammer Cheiften, drove them back to the holigram thingy and....

a marine killed me. I had to walk away cuz I think i woulda broken something. Sooo frustrating!!! I mean Floodgate was frustrating but at least it didn't take an hour and ten minuites to find out you weren't gunna make it. Grrrr

sorry, rant over.

EDIT: Good work Snarls! Great to hear it. I danced for about 10 minuites when I did it! XD

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

This mission is widely known to have trigger-happy Marines. I even made a point to state something in the walkthrough about it. You'll be reading about my own trifles with that mission when that particular chapter is released today, I'm sure ;-)

So my plan for Quad-Mythic on the Storm is coming along nicely. In the mean time, I don't know what I feel like doing, though.

I so miss that mission. If only my discs would stay intact!

Oh kewl, I'll be looking forward to it. :)

What's funny is that the other day when I beat it without using a Plasma Pistol that was my first run of the day.

There are times when the first run is the best run. You aren't as stressed (because you haven't been pwned by your own Marines a dozen times yet) and you have a fresh, positive mind. Plus your palms have yet to start sweating :-)

You know what I want to do? Beat Cortana on Mythic with the spare Skull so I can start Halo with the Laser...and then give the Laser to the Arbiter.

That should be interesting. Johnsson and Arbiter can spend the better part of the mission lasering each other!

I'll be home this weekend, and Jew Man finally has a mic! :-D So if Starocean is up for it, we should be good to go. If not, Gazas is coming along nicely with his progress.

Hopefuly I'll have my cable back by then. The man is supposed to fix it tomorrow. Hopefully he can. I miss XBL. lol.
As long as you don't get mad when I die =) Which I never do when playing co-op.

Man, I still can't figure out how to start The Ark. Oh btw, I got shot up to a big cliff (After the crashed Pelican) and skipped a really big fight. But when I jumped down, I died from the fall timer XD

Haha, ok =)

What time though? Got school tomorrow, that can be a problem. I'm in Sweden, one hour ahead of UK.

Probably not until the weekend. That's usually the best time for Jew Man too as it allows us more time to get through it.

Besides, until i get my cable back, I'm XBL handicapped...

Ah, good then.

I have a question about kamikaze runs. If I do them, does that mean that I'm good and brave or just a coward for skipping parts?

I'll be there Saturday. Should be having a late one (All Night). So I can Quad-Mythic all night. Mixed in with some Fable 2.
By the way, when is Fable 2 out in America?

I believe it came out today. I'm torn between Fable 2 and Silent Hill V.

Neither. If you manage to pull of a kamakazi run, concider yourself lucky. Most of them are based on luck. But some on Crow's Nest for example, require skill. But the one I do on Tsavo Highway is luck.

  • 10.21.2008 12:09 PM PDT

Don't confuse kamikaze runs with the kamikaze method (e.g. Crow's Nest Motor Pool). A kamikaze run implies a very risky run.

Fighting in a kamikaze way is just dangerous, but it's actually fighting.

Kamikaze runs take a good deal of luck and practice. Kamikaze fights require some luck, a lot of awareness, and lots of skill.

Last night when I was assassinating things on Crow's Nest when I was doing that stuff in the Motor Pool, it could have been described as kamikaze, but it was rewarding. It helps you think under pressure and make split second decisions.

The Kamikaze runs have a heavy emphasis on luck. Does it show you are better than most? In my opinion, no. There are pros and cons, and ultimately that's why the two routes are presented. The S&S routes present you with a greater chance of success, while the Kamikaze runs give you less to lose since you aren't spending as much time getting from point A to point B. See what I mean? Both can be potentially bashed, and likewise, both can be praised. It's all up to the player.

I see what you guys mean...

  • 10.21.2008 12:27 PM PDT

Food for thought:

"The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy. To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself. Thus the good fighter is able to secure himself against defeat, but cannot make certain of defeating the enemy."

Sun Tzu.

I'm heading out for the day, but could one of you keep an eye on HBO to see if they post "The Storm" later?

Thanks :-)
