I miss the day April 5th 2008 when I heard Johnson saying ''stand by for pickup'' first time at the end of The Ark and actually started laughing ''so much for impossible game'' remembering my brother's words of I will never complete that desert map.

The funnest thing was that my brother was the first to know his words to be wrong and I didn't know how could I tell people what I have done.

lol. Funny thing is that now, even with visual proof in the OP, people still think it hasn't been done >_>

You'll always get those people.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Very true.

It's pretty wierd though, that they're posting it here too. I see posts like "Good luck man, Cortana will be the hardest level, trust me, I tried" and "This is impossible, only one person have done it"

I wonder if they even read the OP or just saw the title and hit reply as soon as they entered the thread, just to get their post count up or something.

Not to put words in his mouth, but I think he means that it's a game and that accomplishing this feat, while certainly impressive and demonstrates the power of determination, means next to nothing outside the community. It's not the same as doing a good deed for a neighbor or getting straight A's. Those types of things stay with you. You can tell a random person you got straight A's in college and they'll instantly be impressed. You tell someone you beat a video game on the hardest setting, and next you have to take a minute or ten to explain.

Yeah, I know the feeling too. It's a good thing I like the game so much and can set that feeling aside :-)

That pretty much explains it. In the Halo world I feel on top of the world, but that only counts for so much in the real world.

Amazingly enough, the title was changed months ago to "Official Mythic Walkthrough" rather than "Quest for Mythic". What exactly do they think I'm in the process of doing? lol.

True enough and it's good never to forget it. I look at it this way, though. Thanks to organizations like MLG, games like Halo are becoming even more known to the general public eye. I forget which one of the competitors was on 60 Minutes, but you get the idea :-)

Steam

The Storm in 18:23. I got stuck at the end when the Hammer Chieftan and a Brute rushed me and forced me to waste about 2/3 minutes trying to kill them without any Grenades or a Plasma Pistol, ended up running around them and beating the mission in my fastest time to date.

I will hopefully be attempting this sometime soon.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

I tried crows nest the other day and i only got to the part after the first brute I killed al the jakels and the a grunt through a grenade at me i thought i killed al the enemies.

I just watched the Arbiter sneak up on a Carbine Jackal. Arbiter tried to assassinate him, but it was more like this:

Arbiter: *swing his Carbine in the direction of the Carbine Jackal* Raagh!!! Raahh!! Rah!
Carbine Jackal: *finally hears him and turns out, making a surprised noise*
Arbiter: *point-blank headshot on Jackal*

I'm confused regarding this Monthly challenge. Is that a whole Mythic run? So you have completed in on Mythic? Do you need to achieve medals from the medals thread?

Nice time, I don't know if it's good but it's not 4 hours each mission exactly.

  • 01.02.2009 6:15 PM PDT

Sierra 117 completed on Mythic without using a Plasma Pistol. That leaves me with just Crow's Nest to complete this way and I'm finished.

Though technically I did pick up a Plasma Pistol, but I never used it. It's hard to juggle four Beam Rifles without accidentally picking one up.

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

That's no excuse! Use or no use, you must redo it. Just kidding. Nice job though.

No, you're right, he must redo it. Sorry pal ^^

Score!

I killed off the Chieftain early in the Motor Pool fight, but he used his Invincibility...however, his two bodyguards later both came after me and I killed them both, each dropping a Regenerator. I love me some Regens!

Doing it right now? If so good luck! I'm dreading the motor pool for my first mythic run.

  • 01.03.2009 1:27 PM PDT

I died on that run. Right now, however, I just finished up clearing the barracks. I think I have a total of four or five Plasma Rifles, a Plasma Turret, and there are two dropped Carbines that I may as well pick up. The fight the the Jump-pack Brutes should be...interesting.

You haven't done it yet? If so, don't worry, it's not too bad.

  • 01.03.2009 2:36 PM PDT

The deed is done. Crow's Nest on Mythic conquered without the Plasma Pistol. To give you a rough idea of how long it took me, my Ark run where I didn't use the Plasma Pistol took less time than Crow's Nest. Lots of backtracking for weapons and lots of caution...just the way I like it.

Ha, im still on sierra gazas lol. Aint tried mythic for a couple of weeks and even then i never found time to do it often. Which is a shame, because if u do it more often ur bound to get better, thts probably why i found the storm so hard. Did try crows nest once with no walkthrough, died on the last wave of covenant in the hanger.
