Tyrant, do you know a fast way to kill all of the Drones in Crow's Nest? I know a good way but maybe someone knows an even faster way.

I also noticed that Pahat didn't try it the way I did, but I'm not sure if my way was faster than the way he did it.

Haven't the slightest/ I use only BR's and Brute Shots.

Speaking of Brute Shots, they were an absolute Godsend at Hell's Hallway, making Ranged forms be affected by gravity again is pretty useful.

Also I've started the Storm and can usually get to the first Wraith. One time I was doing everything fine but as soon as I killed the turret operator a huge explosion wiped me out, I assumed that the Wratih fired as I was standing on the mortar cannon. Oh and does anyone else think the marines are a little too eager to throw grenades at everything in sight?

Actually I would like to see the marines throw more grenades on the Storm.

I can make a clip and you can tell me if it's a good way.

EDIT: Here it is.

See, here's what Bungie didn't tell you. There's a 14th skull in the game that only becomes active when all 13 others are on. It's call the Wrath Skull. What does it do? It coerces the Marines to unleash all their wrath and might on...the Chief. That's right. It's not a glitch. It was put there on purpose so the Marines could accidentally shoot, run down, betray, and yes, even blow up the Chief.

So there you have it. The secret to the Halo 3 campaign.

;-)

Speaking of being splattered by your own allies...you know the hill the Prowlers come over in the Ark? Well I coerced the enemies in to coming over. The Chopper comes first, gets shot at and has to turn around. So the Chopper starts heading back to the hill, activates his boost as he is about to go over the hill and...

...a poor Grunt in a Ghost was coming over the other side of the hill. Mid-air collision, Chopper obviously wins.

Could you guys please download the Drone battle file in my File Share and give me an opinion?

It's even linked in my previous post.

Maybe tomorrow. I'm off of Halo 3 for the night. I was climbing the spire...got to the level with the Brute Stalker. No one comes out. I shoot with the Chopper a few time. Still nothing...

I get out of the Chopper and walk back in there to examine the bodies. My mind is comprehending two Jackals and then I hear a Flame Grenade go off behind me. I go to run around the other way, a Brute Shot hits a box near me and the box lands blocking my path. I run back the way I came and a Flame Grenade hits where I was standing two seconds before. I fire an overcharged Plasma Pistol, hit him and switch to Carbine, miss three shots, he leaps in the air while I backpedal down the ramp. He lands pretty much right on me and hits me, and I'm not dead. However, I get no chance to retaliate, because somehow I got wedged between the Brute and the wall.

In other news, I'm putting an errata on Misanthrope. If you use a Tank or a Hornet, you can use the weapon systems. Reason being I tried every possible thing I could think of to get to the wall and I always die to either the third Wraith that gets dropped off or the Ghosts. It usually happens one of two ways:

A) I am dealing with the Ghosts and the Wraith magically shoots through the Phantom that is holding it and kills me.
B) I try to deal with the Ghosts but there is absolutely not enough cover and I just get gunned down even if I make it out of the vehicle, or, alternatively, I get out of the vehicle and get shot by the Wraith.

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Well after several attempts at Crow's Nest and many instances of dying at the Hanger or Motor Pool, I decided to kick back and try my hand at Tsavo Highway. After a few tries of both kamikaze and normal runs, I completed the level on a normal run which I've uploaded to my FS. I also had the opportunity to witness 3 awesome screenshot moments which I have linked below.

The brute obviously couldn't take it anymore
Trouble in the pack
Marine glitch

And Congrats to MATCLAN for completing Cortana. It's definitely the one level that can screw anyone up due to the constant randomness of the enemies and occurrences.

For the remaining levels, I'm thinking of setting it out like this:

Sierra 117/Crow's Nest > The Covenant > The Ark

The last 2 are no-brainers considering the length of the missions, but it's a toss up between Sierra and Crow's Nest. I have experience with CN already but Sierra seems a tad easier apart from Sniper Forest.

Funny Fact, on my first run through on legendary in sniper forest I actually managed to kill every sniper except that one that's on the rock right at the end and I made it through the second time with ease. The only thing is, I suck at head shots against Jackals with Blind on x_x

My group Top Fifty.

Der Wesley

Once I get my X-box back, I m sure that I will complete all the campaign missions on Mythic. I will also try everything I can to eventually beat it all IN ONE DAY. Yes, you might think I m crazy to try it, but that just means you don't know me. Please read my bio. If you do, then you know my goals.
P.S. Any ideas for a giant sling shot?

Awesome! :-D

Tsavo Highway is one of my favorite levels. It's vast, open areas allow a large variety of combat. The same type of combat that drew me into the first game, and which the second game lacked almost entirely.

Tsavo, like The Ark, is pure win... even on Mythic Difficulty :-)

Just wanna point out that Jackals have protection so shooting them right on the head will not quite do it always. If you haven't noticed, they have a metal piece on their nose which protects them from several headshots. By shooting higher up on their head, almost hitting the back of their head, will guarantee you an instant kill. I'm pointing this out in one of my videos as well.

EDIT: This is only for marksmen Jackals, not those with shields.

Edit: If you haven't looked at Gazas' Drone Battle video, do so. Brilliant. I got a kick out of it.

Wouldn't that be the 15th skull? Assuming we count the second Blind Skull on Cortana.

Anyway the Wrath Skull just got me again, I was playing through The Storm and I'd just hopped on a Mongoose ready to enter the second lake bed only for a marine to shoot a Rocket at me for no reason whatsoever. To say the least I was shocked seeing as I was making a decent time too (18 mins before the Wrath skull activated).

Ah well, the film is saved for the laughs it provided.

Oh and the Storm seems really easy, it's fun to headshot Grunts and the tactics necessary are much more similar to the style of play I use in multiplayer so it all seems more familiar.

Gazas that video is brilliant, it's exactly what I use whenever I play Crow's Nest apart from the Brute Shot bit which is amazing. Who knew that Brute Shot grenades could pass through that mesh?

I guess I'll respond to this in two portions:

I know why the Marine shot at you. Did you skip the Chieftain fight? See, the Chieftain 'n' Pals try to follow so they can shoot at you...and the Marines tend to notice them. It just so happened you were in the path of the rocket.

What's worse is what the Marines who I gave a Rocket Launcher to on the Ark would be aiming horribly...and several times they would shoot at a point nowhere near an enemy. Most of the time, they happened to be shooting at the other Tanks. I was half expecting one of the tanks to blow up and all hell break loose as Guilty Spark and Marines gun me down...

As for the Brute Shot thing, who knew? Starocean Zero did. Unless he got that from Pahat, that's where it came from (Starocean taught it to Tyrant, Jew man, and myself...and it's obviously in the guide)

But speaking of the Ark...

Six down, three to go.

If there was a phrase for this particular mission I used a lot...it had to be "I regret nothing!" Blasted Scarab kept getting stuck shooting at a tank that was pretty much right next to it's feet. I left my Tank for a Chopper and attempted to boost off a ramp on to it, and I slipped off. As I'm driving away, the Scarab charges and fires the main cannon at me, I get caught in it and go skidding in to a rock and fall out, yelling "I regret nothing!" I got the Scarab to start moving again and lost my shields...but at least it was moving. Soon after, one of the Tanks was stepped on and went spiraling in to a wall before crashing to the ground and being blown apart by the A.A. gun.

To cut the story short, after switching through a total of four vehicles (Tank to Chopper to Ghost to Gauss Warthog), the Scarab dies.

Nice job on the Ark. And as for the bit about the walkthrough I wouldn't know, I've only checked it occasionaly and haven't looked at the Crow's Nest page at all yet.

And yes I did skip the Chieftain and Drones, the thought of going solo against a War Chieftain and his bodyguards didn't really equate to a thought of high survival rates. Thanks for the explanation though.

Actually, it's more along the lines of a War Chieftain, two bodyguards with Spikers (all have Power Drains), a few Jackals, and a decent amount of Grunts. It's really not so bad if you can effectively use guerrilla warfare. I really do love picking them off that way...and sometimes they even help. Those bodyguards are sometimes a little to eager to throw their Power Drains, and on several occasions they throw it and it gets stuck right next to them. So much for protecting the Chieftain...

Crow's Nest, the barracks, has anyone used the smart method of going up in the vents and drop down behind all of the Brutes? I love to scare the Brutes like that, also, there's a room for cover right when you drop down, I can show a vid.

Well I killed all the Grunts, Jackals and the other Brutes (one of which did mess up his power drain so I enticed him over and assassinated him for shields. So when I ran there were only the Chieftain and his bodyguards still alive.

Yeah I've used that trick too, the vents were useful for dropping down behind the brutes in the toilet areas. Also good for throwing grenades down at the victims below or hiding in while the Arbiter and the marines show the Brutes who's boss.

If the firefight comes to a standstill and I know there are one or two Brutes, yeah. I use the first ventilation shaft to get over by them. I stick them if they're walking around.

That War Chieftain fight on The Storm has always given me the jitters. It's not that I can't do it. I have many times. But I've almost always been able to skip it with ease. Since skipping it seems to generate less risk, that's the route I usually take.

But of course not everyone will find that way easier, so to each his/her own.

I have trouble skipping that bit. Usually I'm there all by myself unlike in the guide where you have two ghost marines and a wharthog, so I have to clear the area myself and then hope that the chieftain hasn't gone to the next area by the time I'm done.

Also the trailer from which you jump onto the elevated walkway is often blown away to some place else which makes it impossible to jump up...

If you wanna get levels overwith, Cortana. If you want a Covenant challenge for a change.....I don't know, either The Storm or Tsavo Highway. Tsavo Highway is more Wraiths and War Chieftains though =)
