Legendary is hard enough. I find Mythic just plain unfun. [edit: anything that dictates that you must do something a certain way ussually isn't fun for me. that's why Halo 2 campaign is so boring and Halo CE is so epic)

tips though:
- don't jump when facing brutes with brute shots.
- Pick your weapons carefully. needlers on grunts is a waste of easy beat-down regens and easy brute kills.
- perfect getting shield jackels in one BR burst.(sweep the burst from their hand to the head.)
- pick up-drop-repeat(running) weapons to bring more then two along with you.
- don't waste headshot weapon ammo bringing down shilds.
- look for every possible route around the enemy to flank and confuse them.
- look for as many easy assassinations as possible.
- take bathroom brakes. and don't rush yourself!
- sorry no walkthroughs from me.

I'm having problems on the Storm too.

I'm taking Tyrants advice and going for that Wraith, but every time I do, as soon as I get the door off and am about to kill the driver, a few grunts, Jackals and a Brute all come having gone across the lakebed apparently. I, having no cover, get blown to -blam!- instantly.

I haven't yet managed to kill the Brute on that building, is that why?

Timing is everything. If you can't take down the Brute within a matter of seconds, then you need to ignore it for the time being and rush the Wraith. Many times the enemies in the middle will come after you. That's why it's important to kill the Wraith gunner first. It's okay to leave the drive for now since he really can't shoot you from there. Only once all incoming threats have been neutralized should you try to pilot the Wraith.

Ok, thanks.

Now to get there again. Freaking Brute and Grunt both jumped up after me at the same time. Stuck the Brute, got stuck by the Grunt before I could headshot.

Nope. Its a visual illusion. Only people that have beaten Mythic can see his true armor!

The Marines on The Storm are bugging me now; I was using a mounted missile pod cleaning up Ghosts; then the "Judgement" chapter comes up so I'm waitng for the Scarab only for two Rocket wielding Marines to miss the Brute they were shooting (at the bottom of the lake bed) and hit me.

Otherwise the Grunts come a close second, at least they're funny though.

Anyway my biggest problem area is Factory B. I usually use the Wraith but occasionaly the Grunts get brave and just rush me with grenades; are they less inclined to 'nade me if I stay out of the tank? Or rather will they emerge in smaller groups?

The Grunts, one of which has a Plasma Turret to set up, two Jackals, and a single Brute are meant to come outside near where the Wraith is. Because of that, the Wraith can essentially serve as a deathtrap, seeing as it is a huge target that, given the accuracy of the Grunt's throws, is impossible to miss. And seeing as the Wraith is never in the greatest condition, you can die pretty quickly.

I never had that problem though, due entirely to the fact I have a different order of operations for that fight. I'm pretty sure I got the idea from Starocean or Jew man.

If you are talking about the area after the first lakebed. What I tend to do for that bit, is as soon as the door opens I jump out of the Wraith and run straight in. Deploy a Bubble Shield and jump on that broken Forklift type thing with a crate on it. Jump on it and up and over into the next room.

Best thing to do is watch other peoples videos and not just Tyrants. His method may not work for you, but someone elses might.

I usually only run it after I've cleared the bottom room, but hey I'll try it your way it might work. Thanks.

Did you read the OP? Even a glimpse?

There's a perfect walkthrough by the OP in Mythic difficulty.

The missions have been done in many many, many different ways, just like Halo 2 Legendary.

There are 10 people who've offically completed it.

Weapon juggling is in the walkthrough, as you called "Pick-up-drop-repeat".

The only way for me to dodge a Brute Shot, face to face, is to jump, rather than staying on the ground, some may think different maybe.

And to end it all - Halo 3 Legendary is so easy that we, or at least I, have to turn on skulls to enjoy it.

I don't know but from the looks of it, you didn't even read enough to notice that the OP is a Mythic Veteran. =)

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I'm with Genadier. Mythic for me (and most people) simply isn't enjoyable at all. I do love the Campaign, though.

I guess it depends from person to person. It's not hard and unfun as it is easy and fun, if you're patient and know what you're doing..

  • 01.27.2009 2:43 PM PDT

It's not hard and unfun OR easy and fun.

It's hard and fun. The best combo of all.

Here's an interesting thought I've been having:

There is a Grav Lift near the Sniper Rifle on Tsavo Highway after the Broken Path segment starts. Now, granted the only real point of getting the first Grav Lift is to help a vehicle across...what is the second one for? Try and think of something you can do with it.

  • 01.27.2009 6:04 PM PDT

darn if this were halo two you could just get on top of the map and sword snipe across themap to finish it :P lol

i like the mythic idea,

just gets VERY frustrating

  • 01.27.2009 6:26 PM PDT

Not frustrating to me, I love the campaign.

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Been a while since I've posted but eh. Anyway, a mythic update:

-Haven't really bothered with Crow's Nest much
-The Ark is now my main focus
-Can quite easily get up to the frigate's landing area
-Marines are the biggest team-kill -blams!- ever
-Need to pay more attention to wraiths and sneaky ghosts

The furthest so far on a single Ark run got me up to the area were the 2 wraiths start and one gets dropped off. Focusing my attention on the wraith I was oblivious to 2 ghosts that came up from behind. In the end I blew them up, shifted my focus back to the wraith and a second later was blown up by fiery plasma from above.

And from reading comments from the previous pages, I thank you, Vince and Tyrant, for the advice, but I solely run through my levels from start to finish. I don't know why. Practice from further on would probably help me but I guess I'm a little stubborn when it comes to me and mythic.

And in closing, my school year has now started. Grade 11. So my mythic progress is limited to about 2-3 hours a day, which for me, sucks considering I like an open time frame for which I can practice in.

I use it for the stupid Choppers that's try to splatter me while I take out the Wraiths. While they're in the air, there's no doubt to get your shields back.

Could be used for something better though?

That's still quite a feat! Congratulations, my friend. If you can get through the first half of The Ark, than you've already conquered the hard part. The key with the tank run is to let the others go first (or at least one of them) and let them take the blunt of initial damage.

That's just great.

Pracitice a lot on the last part so you won't die in your actual run.

I ran all the other levels from start to finish during my initial run, with exception to the Ark. With no experience, you'll likely get killed. Then you have to make it all the way back...and probably get killed again because you weren't ready for the next room. This is pretty much the only level where not practicing the last leg will screw you over. It's a long level. It takes a while to get to that point, and you can't effectively come up with a plan when you have to spend so much time just getting there.
