I'm thinking of a way to kamikaze/skip either the Dam or the area previous to that.

Finally managed to watch the River rush. Still brilliant but isn't that grenade jump a little too risky?

You can already view that in my fileshare under "Dam Kamikaze". I doubt there's a faster way.

Obvously since you're running straight to the objective without killing everyone.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Don't see how it is. The enemies are concerned about the Pelicans. And there is a wall blocking half the enemies from you so they do not attack you. The only damage you take is from the Grenade Explosion. And somehow, the water dampens up half the explosion, so you take half the damage, if you noticed from my video. It took 2 grenade explosions to lower my shields.

So before trying, make sure you've got health.

Yep. I tend to hit a Brute or a Grunt from behind as I run down, then quickly jump into the water. They have never attacked me so far while doing this, but it may be possible.

And I suppose it doesn't matter because Jackal Snipers kill you in one shot regardless of shields and the next section is Sniper Forest...
And I was wondering about the water, I thought that maybe the first grenade was too far away and that you were on the very edge of the explosion for the second one so thanks for explaining.

That's what I'm using, but I always manage to get myself killed near the end, and then I get frustrated, colorful language ensues, and then I must switch to matchmaking. Woe is me...

I'd really like to see some of these uploaded for easy viewing from the computer. Does anyone here have the tech?

I can, but it'll take some work... My computer is having issues... it keeps rebooting after getting to desktop over and over... I dont know how to fix. Any computer whizzes out there?

But if I get that fixed, I'd be glad to record them for Jew Man so he can upload to his favorite video streaming site. But I'd need his permission first.

EDIT:
Gazas- ^same reason I haven't gotten to your latest videos you want me to record. sry...

I'd imagine it has a lot to do with fluid resistance, myself.

Off the subject of physics, trying to kamikaze the Sniper Forest sounds...ridiculous. At least if you're not going to shoot at them, and even if you do, you can't have your gun trained at each possible Jackal position at the same time; one of them is bound to hit you...just hope it isn't with a Beam Rifle.

Also take in to consideration the bend that you need to pass around before the straight run towards the crash area. There is usually a sniper positioned in the area waiting for you to get close enough. I suppose it would be possible to kill the Sniper after managing through the first portion, and killing off the Carbine Jackals after they catch notice of you...but there's just so many variables against it.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

I thought i would take a break from doing the storm and i tried sierra 117 for a bit of fun and try and find some shortcuts but i eventually made it to the river and jumped off the ledge I forgot that the snipers were there and i got snipped. I got there without many problems and i let the arbitor do most of the work. There was also a kamikaze grunt thated failed to do so it was stuck under a log and between a rock and it just kapt running into the log with 2 grenades primmed but it did prove something that kamikaze grunts do not blow up after a certain amount of time.

I've actually ran through it kamikaze style without even getting hit. With Arbiter's help to distract them, I rushed from the left and just picked them off one by one. It's not really all about luck, as long as you know where they might spawn, they've got on chance.

Oh, and to win this area, you must know how to one-shot a Jackal Marksman.

You guys are going to trashtalk me soon, aren't you?

=)

Impossible. Everyone knows it takes one and a half shots to kill a Jackal marksman!

Random jokes aside, I suppose I am on a Halo 3 hiatus for a bit, hence why my recent activity since Wednesday has gone down. I suppose I am just waiting for my friend to move back to IL. Once I evaluate whether he'll be useful for Mythic, and if Tyrant is ready, Team Mythic (3.0!) can resume. If my friend is not ready, I have a backup person who I also know irl.

Sounds good. I hope we can actually get through all nine missions this time without any of our members going AWOL on a regular basis :-)

  • 01.30.2009 7:59 AM PDT

The problem with my first choice is that RE5 comes up in March...and I know he's going to get it, and he'll probably just start playing that the whole time, unless he actually is dedicated to what we're trying to do and would get on to Halo 3 when he is needed.

And even if that happens, like I said, I talked to another of my friends (who actually has been the H3 Legendary Campaign), and so he is a backup plan. Although usually a backup plan is considered worse than the original plan...which really isn't the case.

what do you mean AWOL??? are they really going nuts everytime you guys go into the missions?

No, they were doing fine during the mission (as far as I could tell from the films anyway) but they weren't reliable enough to turn up on time or at all.

Hopefully I'll be able to see a full Quad Mythic Campaign eventually. Meanwhile however I have a Scarab which demands my immediate attention, so without further ado I'm going to have to refer to the Walkthrough rather than stubbornly trying methods which don't seem to be very efficient.

EDIT: To Vincent: Why not just use your "backup plan" straight away seeing as the other friend doesn't seem all that interested?

No, the issue is that they just didn't show up. No warning. No heads up. Vince and I would wait for a good 20 minutes or so, maybe even start up a practice run, and they just wouldn't show up.

There is a reason for that, and to avoid confusion, I'll be using their gamertags. Pronouns are only useful when you actually have mentioned the person's name. My other friend, Pagan, is currently at college, and I have no idea what his schedule looks like. He may get a load of homework which would take priority over Mythic (and rightfully so), and what we're looking for most is the ability to show up.

Shane, however, will be not far from where I live. That's less lag, and I can contact him a lot more easily.

I'm sure I'll be popping in RE5 as well, (big fan of the franchise) but Mythic doesn't really take up that much of our time, particularly since we don't usually do it on weekends nowadays. So I'm hoping this won't be too big of an issue. It sounds like Vince's plan is a good one. I'd rather have someone on the team he can call (or just flat out beat up) if there's a no-show situation.

I can see the advantages there and really just hope that it works out. You must be sick of getting started on Quad Mythic only for team mates to mess you up by now.
