Thanks man!

Vince, you better hide!

Alright, after you've finished shooting Vince could you explain how the Brute Shot melee works well on Hunters despite the fact that the marines and Arbiter will be making every effort to blow them up? And I wouldn't have thought a slightly more powerful melee would make much difference anyway. Dammit I'm confused now...

As long as you hit on the right spot, it's devastating against them. You have to aim on the orange area, if you melee too high or low, you'll just hit the blue armor and you'll hear the same sound as if you were hitting a wall. Hit the orange flesh everytime, you'll hear that you have hit it. I can show a video if there already isn't one.

How many hits does it take, I don't know, but it doesn't take much more than 20 seconds to kill them with it, less maybe.

Btw, I'm not gonna shoot Vince, I'm gonna beat him to death with the toy. Then everyone can laugh at the irony.

Fair enough, a video would be nice. It just seems that bludgeoning a Hunter wouldn't be very effective, bludgeoning Vince on the other hand...
But 20 seconds for a Hunter? Wow.

Tell you what, I'll try to make a video right now for you to download.

20 seconds is how it feels like though, I could be wrong.

I'll play with all the skulls without Blind and Iron though, to make it go faster for the video.

HERE.

First Hunter took 17-18 seconds because I hit the blue area sometimes.

Second Hunter took 8 seconds, it maybe got damaged by the Elites before but hey.

I'm a great guy really.

Thank you for those sierra kamikaze vids jew... managed to get past the river for the first time ever lol... and in under 15 minutes which was cool, just got outdone by the randomness of jackal spawns of the next area. Only had time for 3 attempts though, and still tryin 2 get the hang of tht first jump where u jump into the trees before the first area, sometimes it takes too long to do and i end up dying, ah well, its faster anyway.

Watched it and can't see it being useful on The Storm what with the Marines and Arbiter blowing stuff up. I will however remember about this for The Covenant, the method of blowing all the Drones up quickly was effective too.
Good luck with your speed runs.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

hahahaha =)
I think you should try to beat Halo. I have a video in my fileshare that might help you. Check it out ;)
Ugh. Watched it, and I liked your method better then the hang back and kill the waves method, as it takes less time, but I'm still having trouble with those jump. On any other difficulty I hit them fine, but not on Mythic. Another problem is after the first grenade jump, you have enough shields for the second, barely, but if you take any hits as you do your first one, you can die.

Attempting to fix this, I tried several times to melee the Stalker that drops down, but usually by that time all the Flood down there have jumped UP, mobbing me. :(. I'll probably manage to make it all the way through to the end once I manage that jump.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

As I've learned since then, it is also possible to use just the hammer for both jumps (backwards for the first and frontwards for the second). Those take some practice as well. On the downside, it needs to be a little more precise than the 'nade combo jumps since you won't end up with nearly as much clearance, but on the bright side, you don't have to worry about damaging your shields in the process.

I have managed to do it many, many times on The Storm. When Arbiter wasn't there, the marines blew me up everytime for some reason.

So you're wrong, it's useful, as long you find a way for the marines not to blow you up.

I'm glad you liked it though....or did you? =)

EDIT: 7 downloads lol, it was just a clip of me killing Hunters with melee attacks.

There is a youtube video of sonicjohn doing this on his run of Halo.

I figured it out. Works much better in my opinion. Managed the jump I think 3 times in a row... Fell off while fighting Spark all three times :(. I'm progressing though.

Steam

Gazas, I just give the Arbiter a Rocket Launcher and skip past the Hunters into that side room. I let the Arbiter kill the Hunters while I work on the next group of Brutes.

Yeah, I liked it. And you're so right about the marines, they do nothing but throw grenades at everything in sight including the Chief and then when they kill you they're like, "Oh, Chief's dead. Nevermind." then throw more grenades.

Exactly.

I noticed that if the Hunters comes closer to the area where the Brute is beating up one of the workers, the Marines won't throw grenades for some reason, I can just get them in there and kill them. Or I could just skip them lol.

I'm planning on just running past the Hunters while Arby and the marines handle them. I'll grab the Sniper Rifle from the office and thin out the numbers of the Grunts and Jackals hopefully causing the Brutes to retreat before I set the Arbiter onto them.

I finally made it through Spark and to the driving part, and even made it almost to the end, but then I got flipped on the last stretch... As I got back into the hog I died :(. I think I'm done for today, maybe I'll make it further tomorrow.

Just been playing a bit of Halo: CE. Progressed from Assault on the Control Room to Two Betrayals. And found something interesting. The big long bridges on Assault on the Control Room have the same design as the bridge at the end of The Covenant. Also, a corridor design is the same as Halo (Halo 3), the part where you are heading towards the Warthog. The Corridor with all the Carrier Forms in it. Where it has the side section to the left which is where I run down to dodge all the Carrier Forms.

That`s because it`s the same building, only rebuilt by the Ark.

You blow up installation 04 in CE, you activate installation 04 in H3
