Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,

FYI Peeps, today is Day One of this months Mythic Challenge!

  • 02.01.2009 2:04 PM PDT

Indeed it is. Who's participating?

  • 02.01.2009 7:34 PM PDT

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Well The Ark is complete, Mythic style. Took me only 3 tries after the scarab fight to get through to the end. The first time I tried to BR the War Chieftain to death (little did I know they are more resilient than the grav hammer kind), the second time I got assassinated by one of the War Chieftains cronies and the 3rd time I beat the level :)

However (I doubt this would have happened to any or few of you):

- Only 1 tank came through the door at the bottom, when there were 2 (3 normally, 1 got blown) so I had to do wraith valley by myself, with a marine gunner (I never see them hit anything further than a meter ahead of their face) and a BR marine riding shotgun.

- I almost got killed from a ghost while 'inside' the scarab's core room.

- And last and probs actually a rather thankful thing on my part, (considering the idiocy of jump pack brutes) I accidentally triggered the Sergeants first line of speech when I was trying to chuck plasma pistols inside the overlooking room, which caused the glitched chieftain to go back to normal. So I had to take out the pack (note: 6 JP brutes, 1 Chieftain from what I saw through the window). Chieftain first, backtrack a bit, turns out 2 suicided so I had a breeze taking them out from a distance.

Anyway, wall of text is a wall, but I'm rather proud I finally managed what many consider the hardest level of Mythic. I may have clocked a somewhat long 2 hrs 10 mins but regardless, I'm really glad I managed it.

Finally, this level completion marks my 2/3 overall completion of Mythic difficulty so upon completion of Sierra 117, Crow's Nest and my all time favorite level, The Covenant, I will be the official 11th completer of Mythic, unless MATCLAN has anything to say about it or if someone just pops up with all levels complete Mythic style.

Edit: Soz for double post, Firefox crashed when I clicked submit so 2 copies came out for some reason.

Nope, nothing to say here; still having it out with the Scarab on The Storm lol. Good job with the Ark, Hopefully you should manage the rest of it easily. Anyway I'd be happy with the 12th spot.

Nice job with The Ark!

And no, Matclan, so far no one has signed up...

Oh well!

I'm a great guy really.

I wuld like 2 sign up for this challenege sometime, just wish i had more free time, and considerin it seems to take me months per level due to this, i aint got much hope lol. I may give it a go sumtime where im doin nufin 4 a week and ive at least dun sierra, which i think i can do now with a little bit of commitment, which aint my greatest attribute. Got annoyed since i failed the grenade jump when kamikazing the river and blew myself up with the second nade, which caused me 2 stop again, but hey, i'll try to be in the top 15 conquerers, hopefully better than that

You have to do it from start to finish in one run. No saving and quitting. The closest you can come to taking a break is hitting the pause button. To clarify for everyone, Mythic entitiles you to start, run and finish the same mission all in one run. The entire thing should be in ONE saved film.

DO NOT save & quit as this action is considered illegal in Mythic.

Best of luck in the contest and have fun!

PS - Per the rules of the contest, your gamer tag MUST be linked with your b.net account.

Yeah. I expect it will take me several months+ to beat Mythic, even if I make several attempts a day, so attempting it in a week seems... Out of reach.

Good luck to anyone that competes :).

Last month, we had one competitor that was literally hours away from doing the whole Mythic campaign for the first time in seven days. So we know it's possible.

I'll bet that that particular competitor didn't have to share his Xbox with two brothers and have school to contend with too. Still the fact that it is possible means that once I've (eventually) finished Mythic for the first time I will compete even if it is only to improve my scores and times or try out different ways of doing things.

Also, are you still planning on incorporating Halo Wars into next month's contest?

Yep, that's the plan. I'm very much looking forward to the release of the game (and not just for the first three Mythic maps), and I'd like to share that excitement with the group.

So...we have one entrant. Winning by default is no way to win, so I guess I will enter.

Indeed. And FYI, Vince, in order to play, you need to have yours linked as well. I know you guys are honest players, but not everyone thinks like my Mythic community :-)

Now I need to think of an effective way to betray enough allies to hijack a tank for the medal and not get nuked by Guilty Spark...

I can't link this profile to my gamertag since it's linked to another gamertag, that's why I hide it.

I do have a profile for gazas but I linked them not too long ago, so I just thought I would stick with this one.

So when (if at all) are you going to drop hints about how this is gonna work? I have a theory, probably not a good one but the only one which makes sense from what I've read.

Imagine the blind skull, no HUD, no circle menu, just the screen. That would be hard.
