Man, Gazas, you're blunt. Kind of like Shishka when someone's stupid. It's funny but I wouldn't care to be on the receiving end.
Anyway, how's the speed running going? Broken any records?
Just letters =)

And no records broken, but as Jew told you, a method of mine may help him beat Pahat. Makes me just as happy.

Shhh! He might hear us.
I can get into the Wraith in the first lakebed in about 2 minutes. Get to the second lakebed in about 4 mins. Which is 1 min faster than Pahat. I just need to practice downing the Scarab faster than I do at the moment.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

After seeing his 13 minute Storm run, I now understand suicide is my only option. :(
On a highly amusing saddening note, I managed to make it farther then I ever had before on Halo. I died just about where Tyrant says in the vid, "it would suck to make it this far and die". Paraphrasing of course.

How fast do you need to kill it?

It comes at roughly 6 minutes. So I'd have to kill it in around 1 Min 30 Seconds. That would take me to roughly 8 minutes in the final part. And I'd have 5 minutes to match Pahat's time. Which is fairly easy I think.

You could use my kamikaze way to destroy it, it's risky, but you don't like boring, so it could be good for you =) I destroyed it in about 10-20 seconds after it landed. I can show you a vid sometime.

Thanks, I'll have a look ASAP. One other thing though; what am I goign to do about the other two Wraiths just before the Brute Blockade (assuming I've already hijacked one of the three)?

I may recommend looking at my File Share. In specific, the Armed Conformist and Misanthrope videos for Tsavo should have some useful demonstrations. You can get a Chopper over the bridge without the Gravity Lift, which allows you to bring with a Regenerator instead. And in the event you screw up getting over the gap, I found a way to get the Chopper back up, as shown in my Misanthrope video. Aforementioned Regenerator could prove useful if your shields have taken a beating prior to the last battle and you really, really don't want to die.

I've dealt with Wraith Hill several ways. Stealing a Wraith and making a run for it can work, so long as you get away from the hill fast enough and never turn the Wraith around and just pray that you're nearly far enough away that they won't shoot you. Incidentally, there are Jumppack Brutes with Brute Shots that can do a good amount of damage against the Wraith...and if you start reversing too far...the Wraith will notice you again.

Of course, you can also deal with the Wraiths and take them out one by one. It's safer, so long as you successfully use the second Wraith as a barrier between you and the third and wait until it gets to a position where you can quickly get off Wraith #2 and board it afterward.

Does anyone do the same thing I do? As soon as I get the chance to hop on the mongoose, I rush out, kill the wraith, then rush right over to the right missile pod, and sit there and wait for the rest of hte boys to clean up, and then just launch missiles like theres no tomorrow as soon as the scarab appears. I get its back off and blown up about 20 seconds after it appears.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

373 Plasma Pistol kills and counting

I just wanted to know, did you put any marks on your TV screen to act as a makeshift aimer? Thanks to the blind skull you have no way of aiming. I put one of those circular binder reinforcement labels where my aimer should be. Is that cheating?

I think its unsportsmanlike. But thats just my opinion. As for the no cross hairs, just give it time. You'll get used to it eventually. It then is kinda nice, cuz you dont have that huge weapon getting in the way of your field of view.

Personally, I use my minds eye.

A friend of mine has two threads stretched across his screen.

Each to their own.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

Matclan try doing tyrants method for the tsavo highway the first time i made it up to there i passed it by doing that method and it doesn't take all that long.
As for the blind skull i don't use any guides i can snipe preatty good with the BR with out the aim the only weapon i have trouble with is the beam rifle.

I can't put tape on my screen actually. I have a plasma tv, so I usually try to do whatever I can to avoid scarring it.

I think mine is an LCD, I'm not gonna try putting tape on it though.

Good idea. Those things are far to expensive to ruin for a game.

For those of you who are curious, learning to play without your reticule is not that difficult, and actually, you learn to enjoy not having a weapon blocking half your screen. So here's the tru7h. When you hop inside a vehicle, let's say a tank, your reticule is in the exact center of the screen. Just remember dead center for vehicles. Now, for your regular weapon (and granted this depends on the size of your TV), the reticule is roughly 1 inch below the center. My TV is a 30" so you'll have to do your own math from there, but those are the basics.

I've got an LCD my brothers and I all chipped in to buy , there's no way I'd consider ruining it with tape or blue tack. Anyway, the Blind Skull is supposed to make it harder, it'd be almost cheating if you were to circumvent it.
Anyway after playing with Blind active for a while you appreciate the wider field of view. There are both pros and cons which help balance it a little.

I suppose you could use tape to get ease your way into the blind skull. Even with tape, you cannot see your shield, which to me is the most annoying part of the blind skull.

As for not ruining your TV's, I suppose you could use purple painter's tape. That comes up really easy, and doesn't leave any residue.

Alright, I've just been practicing Tsavo and it would be easy apart from one somewhat major hitch... I apparently have no sense of aim with a Beam Rifle whatsoever. Somehow I could use the Sniper Rifle on The Storm perfectly well, but the Beam Rifle doesn't seem to work. I think that this is because there is more kickback to the Beam Rifle, kickback which is difficult to estimate without a reticle. So far I have generally wasted most shots on the first Jackal only to get the dead man's click when trying to get the others.
I'm planning on practicing on Normal with only the Blind Skull active until I can use the Beam Rifle but any other ideas are welcome.

I'm using tape to display my shield bar. So when I get hit, I rip off a part so I know how much I have everytime. And when I get my shields back up, I put on some more tape.

I also use tape to make a collage of the weapon I have. When I press Y, I'm -blam!-ed so I try not to do so many noob combos.

=)

I use tape to seal my eyes shut while playing. Heck, if you're gonna play blind, do it right.
