Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Made it to the Scarab, mainly by a great deal of luck, but hey, it's progress. I think I'm just going to have to resign myself to the fact that it's going to take 20+ tries per level. The Ark is gunna suck...

EDIT: During the first CHopper fight everything went wrong: the 'Hog and Marines were killed, the Chieftain was still alive as was the Shade turret and both Choppers. However this did not stop me from killing all of them, and commandeering a Chopper. Unfortunately however the CHopeer just doesn't give the driver enough protection to survive a swarm of Drones.
So I tried again and the same situation panned out apart from instead of taking a Chopper through the barrier I managed to scrounge a Warthog which allowed me to make it to the Broken Path. After that I made it to Wraith Hill before getting mortared.
All in all it was a good run.

It's possible to drive a Chopper through the tunnel and past the swarm, you just need to boost at the correct time to get you under them and far enough up the slight slope in the tunnel. I did it a few times. Would I recommend it? No, not really.

Yeah, I definitely learned that the Chopper is too risky because it only gives you cover from the front whereas the Warthog is more encompassing and generally goes faster.
Still I was surprised that I managed to kill everything except the Drones on foot. I guess that I fight better in open areas as opposed to close quarters.

I think that the Scarab is the key point of The Storm because after you kill it you get the Arbiter to help out. I actually finished the mission on the first time I defeated the Scarab, my only problem was the Marines and the AA gun, other than that your home free.

I'm a great guy really.

Matclan, if ur struggling with tsavo highway then try the method on my file share, its the only way ive managed (or infact tried) to do it, and after a few practices it gets easier to do. I akip basically all fighting, but it depends if you can kamikaze well or not. Also scapegoat, dnt worry, u will not find the storm as hard as i did, took 1-2 months and took about a week 2 pass the 1st lakebed... yeh im not tht great. For some reason the scarab never troubled me a great deal, wneva i passed the 1st lakebed i usually got towards then end and stupid marines killed me past the scarab.

I'm not struggling with Tsavo Highway, I haven't actually tried Wraith Hill yet but it's the only thing left for me to work out then it should be an easy run through. I'll look at your File Share anyway though because the more examples I have the more I can mix things up and improvise.

Alright then, didn't know if you were or not but anyway it may help. The wraith hill is not at all difficult and I'm sure you could probably do it first time as long as you go in knowing what you are doing, my first time there i finished the level. It's probably the easiest part from there onwards but make sure you know what you're doing. You'll do fine anyway, u dnt even need this advice.

That's pretty much the truth, and the only reason I rate The Storm as being easier than Tsavo Highway. When you stop and think about it, The Storm has the potential of being only have a mission.

Yeah, but it makes you wonder what it would be like without the Arbiter... That warehouse full of Brutes would be pure hell. Especially since there aren't many plasma weapons in that area.

Got to the end (The Dam) of Sierra 117 in 20 minutes today first try. Got killed by a Propane Tank that was set off by a exploding Grenade on the floor that was set off by a Brute Shot. All in all good run.

When you've managed to do a fast run of sierra please may you put it on ur fileshare? I'm still struggling a little, usually on the grenade jump I can only ever seem to do if i start at alpha, but not in a real game, but apart from tht it's still quite hard for me, need more kamikaze style, thanks anyway if u do.

I agree. I know once I make it by that last section, I'm all but done. Watch me die at the hunters the first time I make it past the Scarab.

Hello again. I've just returned from a long break from Halo and am now back onto Mythic. Just changed my style from kill everything that moves to Leeroy Jenkins, and It's working out great! Got my Floodgate time down from near 20 minutes to around 5. Anyone got any tips for Halo? Would be much appreciated :-)

Learn the path to take in the warthog section and don't hesitate to slow down enough to save yourself, those are the 2 top tips I could give you for Halo.

I have zero progress to report. My plan backfired. I thought by signing up, even more people would also...but they didn't. And given the fact I got a new game on Wednesday and the Halo Wars demo coming out...well, yeah. I've been distracted. All the other entrant needs to have done is finish one mission.

I didn't sign up, go me, though I did finish Halo within the week. I think I'm going to have another go at The Storm...

I fancy trying Mythic crossed with "SBWT". I'll start with Floodgate. Anyone care to join me in this impossible mission. I guess it will pass the time untill Halo Wars is released.

That's sort of what I suggested in the thread earlier. :-P
It would be a slow kamikaze though seeing as you move slower when in reverse.

Tah much. I made it to the Warthog section last night, but my warthog flipped right beside a mob of flood and I couldn't find it again. Would you reckon the Mongoose or Warthog is better for this mission?
