My view gets pretty trippy after the reactors blow and Tyrant starts going back through the hallway.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

3 hours into The Ark, SLASO style, a random nade from an ally lands next to me and makes me angry faced.

I go into matchmaking and get yelled at for my rank and thus; my gaming experience ruined. Halo is a rough world.

So as Tyrant and I were doing the river part of Sierra 117, we started to wonder if there might be a spot where you can spot the Sniper Jackal without having to turn that corner just to get a shot in. One where you can't get sniped from.

And well...I didn't find one, but I did find the next best thing! A spot where you can take out the Jackal before he knows where you're at, but there is a downside. He can see you and sometimes spot you...of course, then I thought of something better.

Sierra Strat

First, the video takes a look at when the Jackal spawns. Once the area is clear, I move forward and trigger a checkpoint. Then I make my way to "the rocks", which are...two rocks. They're located across the river and, despite the other invisible barriers in the area, you can get far enough over to get on them. Once on there, I check where the Jackal is and find nothing.

Next, I move closer and trigger the checkpoint that spawns the enemies around the corner as well as the Jackal. And then I use the rock to fight the Jackal under the following two scenarios:

A) Jackal is unaware I am there.
B) Jackal is aware I am there.

Results for A: Jackal can be easily killed before he notices you, but if you miss he gains a brief chance to respond. Make sure your shot counts.
Results for B: The Jackal will spot you getting out of the water and on to the rock. Chances are you'll die because of it, but in the video I manage to land a headshot before he kills me.

Next I move to show another location and show another spot, which is quite simply...the best option. Once in the river, whether the Jackal is alert or not, you can hop up and take shots at him. Note: When the Jackal is facing you, you have enough time to jump up above the surface, fire, and will already be underwater before he can shoot. It is also easy to take care of the Grunts and Brutes from this area. Don't let the enemy put you in a scenario of walking around the corner in to their gunsights on you! Turn the tables!

Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Well I've done Crow's Nest, but another Sierra 117 moment happened. Live cut out in my run prior and I forgot to turn it back on, so the game stats and the vid are incomplete. And as per my 'Mythic code', I'm gonna re-do it so it's fully complete proof.

All my vids need the 3 strikes of proof:
Game history
Complete game stats and
Complete file share vid

Oh well, it's not all bad I guess. I learned a neat little trick for the hangar: by just staying in the room with the BR's and stockpiling plasma pistols, it's a remote, ammo toting shack of sorts. Plus I used to just want to run in guns blazing for Crow's Nest, but I focused on surviving, and what do you know? I did it.

Oh and anyone who has ever screwed up assassinating the fuel rod chieftain should watch my run. I could've had a heart attack by the end of that.

Unlucky on Sierra 117.

Nice find, I'm debating between tackling wither Sierra 117 or The Covenant next and that particular Jackal was one of the key concerns for Sierra. Would I be correct to sum up your strategy as, "Stay in the water and use guerilla tactics to keep the Covenant guessing while you pick them off one by one"?

EDIT: Forgot to mention this but I'll put it out there now. At the start of Tsavo Highway after mowing down the first two Sniper Jackals and arming your marines with the Beam Rifles there is a rock you can park the 'hog on whilst the marine pick everything else off and no fire is returned. As far as i know nobody else has used this rock to make the following skirmish easier. Here are some images; Position1 and Position2.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,

Congratulations to Xd Bud bX for taking home the Mythic Map Pack grand prize, squeezing by the competition with a Floodgate Mythic run of 4:06!

Many others came close. Most of the times were under five minutes, and a handful of people scored around 4:10, so nice work to everyone who entered!

And we sure noticed that there's a lot of talented people out there that are missing huge when it comes to Campaign. Sure Floodgate is easy but you know what I mean.

Fortunetaly for the winner, he's probably enjoying his prize so it's not likely that he's gonna thank you. Thumbs up guys.

My Best was 4:45, goodness. I'm going to have to watch and see how 4:06 is even possible.

I watched a 04:02 run on Legendary and it didn't seem to be any faster than my 4:56 time, which is really annoying since I can't see what I did that was slower than the better runs. Only tried it the one time though.

I'm sure the difference between the 4:09 pahat booked, and the 4:06 is probably so small, it'd be hard to notice even if you ran the films side by side.

The winner definitely earned it though. Also, what levels do you guys have left for Multi Mythic... I've totally lost track.

Correct. It's rather amusing.

As for the rock...well, see...no, someone else has used the rock: myself. My Misanthrope Tsavo run, if I do recall, had me going up there to snipe the Brute, as well as on Dual-Mythic I went up there.

congrats to the winner of the contest, well-earned in my eyes. I kept having so much random crap happen to me hehe, maybe second prize should be a clip of who has the most random thing happen to them while competing. When rounding the first corner w/ grav hammer, I always nade the truck and try to blow the coils behind it. Well, it works great most of the time. Although, one time it blew straight up in the air and came down on my head when I was just passing the falling flood... good times.

My thoughts exactly, at least Tyrant showed dedication to the task at hand though. Tells you something about a person if they're willing to keep paying money in an effort to attempt to help others and finish what they started.

And now for some Covenant woes, Gazas I have yet to watch your video, I will DL it as soon as I get back on the Xbox whilst hoping desperately it has an anti Wraith trick somewhere lol. I was doing so well with one of the Banshees flying into a wall and killing himself and the marines showing basic simian intelligence until I come up against the Wraith. My problem is that occasionaly it overshoots and hits exactly where I'm retreating to as I get there yet this overshooting seems to be somewhat random so there's no way of telling if it's going to be an accurate shot or a fail induced win for the Wraith... Anybody encountered this before? If so how did you work around it?

Mhm. Plenty of times. The trick is learning to tell when the Wraith has overshot...the farther back the shot will land, the longer it will take to get there. Basically...if it seems like it is taking too long for the shot to land, stop backing up and move closer to the trees.

The Wraith by the two Prowlers? I don't know much about it since I haven't had much problems with it. Fortunetaly I know a good way to kill it, specially for the guy who out BR'd me every time (you).

This is good if you don't rely on your Laser for the rest of the level. Simply laser off the hatch of it and snipe the pilot. 3 successful shots will kill him. If you leave the Ghosts beside you alone, they shouldn't come after you so don't drag any attention to them.
