Just out of curiousity, has anyone here been able to jack the AA Wraith in The Covenant and make it past the Banshees?
That's kind of impossible if your allies don't have your laser before you jack it.

eventually ill be back on Reach and CEA. i enjoy gaming for fun, im a great player and i enjoy smoking while i play. so any chill players feel free to add me. I in NO way support halocharts; old username.

instead of using a laser shot for the Brute hammer chiefton, just get up on the ledges and stand there. he will come to you and stand there as well. simply throw a brute grenade under his feet and it kills in 1-2 nades. he has only ever jumped up at me once, ive played a LOT of campaign.sometimes he will throw a grenade, just jump to the next ledge, easy peasy.this way you earn yourself another laser shot for later use.

If he runs at you without jumping, going around for assassination is the best way.

You're talking about doing this after his bodyguards are dead right?

Actually I think Tyrant's wondering if anyone has actually used the AA Wraith as an Anti Air weapon... In which case I'd have to say no because whenever I've had a go at The Covenant on Mythic I've skipped the beach fight. Not sure about anyone else though.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

I've actually managed to make it through both towers just fine without the laser, but admittedly, I have found it more useful to keep the laser with me during the Hornet flight as well as against the Chieftian in tower 3. Yes, he can be killed without it, but it's just easier to kill him with it. I've started using my first 2-3 shots on the first Wraith.

I was curious about the AA Wraith mainly for the area up until the first tower. The problem with doing it this way is that typically to jack this particular Wraith, you need both a plasma pistol (to keep it from spinning) and a BR to headshot the driver. And since you can't exit the Wraith once you're inside without destroying it, this means leaving the laser behind. Doesn't seem worth it.

Maybe if you're a Fuel Rod Gun pro it's worth it.

It could be a viable idea for a Multi-Mythic run though. That way one player could keep the Laser whilst another uses the Wraith.

I've watched every walkthrough video. You pretty much made me cry at how good you were at head shots with no reticle. I can't even do it with a reticle. >.<

And I have a question, Can I have Meta-Scoring turned on?

So you destroyed the Banshees with the AA Wraith? Were you upclose or from afar? And how long did it take to hit them?

Scoring has to be turned on for it to be counted as Mythic. As for the lack of a reticle... It takes a couple of minutes getting used to (shoot a rock for a while) but then it sort of grows on you. Threats from the right certainly become easier to spot.
Personally I think that Black Eye is the real killer skull.

to keep your reticule always in center just draw the reticule on your screen :)

it sounds like a joke, but it works if you need to :)

I did figure out something interesting for The Covenant. Apparently, if you skip the first battle at the beach head, it's better if you just keep going to the first tower rather than backtracking right away to pick up the Warthog. You can use the laser to kill the Wraith driver and one of the beam rifles to take out the gunner. THEN backtrack down using the Ghost that the hobbling Grunt tries to take initially. Both the Mongoose and the Warthog will meet you at the Shade turret typically unharmed. And if you can kill all the enemies before they damage the vehicles too much, you can essentially skip the banshees entirely and make the battle in front of the tower MUCH shorter.

The only drawback to this method is having to deal with the hammer Chieftian via assassination so you can use the remaining laser charges on the Tower 3 Chieftian. However, after practicing on The Ark several times, this has become far simpilar, kinda like the hammer jumps on Halo.

Mythic difficulty is far to time consuming, just out of interest, how long did it take you to complete Mythic (from start to finish)?

I don't posses the skill, patience or determination for Mythic. I'll leave it to the professionals.

Gazas and I did that when we were trying Dual-Mythic on The Covenant, on occasion it's actually possible to kill the Wraith in a single burst of red death if you can hit the vent on the back.

As for this:

THEN backtrack down using the Ghost that the hobbling Grunt tries to take initially. Both the Mongoose and the Warthog will meet you at the Shade turret typically unharmed. And if you can kill all the enemies before they damage the vehicles too much, you can essentially skip the banshees entirely and make the battle in front of the tower MUCH shorter.

We never knew about being able to get reinforcements, very useful especially since assassinating Brute Chieftains is something Gazas does rather well.
Thanks for this new info. Just when I thought everything had been discovered along comes something else. That's Halo for you though. :-)

The first time is always the most difficult, but it gets much easier.

Don't let the media tell you that it can't be done. It's like the mission Cortana. Thanks to the power of public opinion, people automatically assume it's the worst, when in reality, it's one of the easier levels. People just buy into other's opinions far too easily and take it to heart. Hundreds have now done at least one mission on Mythic. Possibly thousands. Try it.

Tyrant speaks the tru7h. I was a skeptic too at first, then he told me to try it, I did and then I realised it was fun so I set to work doing a bit more Mythic whenever I got the time. Speaking of which I was bored yesterday with nothing to do so I thought about easing myself back into Mythic with a shot at Floodgate only to finish the mission first try and at twice the speed of my first run. Sure it's still not very quick (according to Floodgate standards) but 10:58 is a damn sight better than 20 minutes lol. I might try to improve it again today.

Also Tyrant are there going to be anymore community Mythic contests? I thought it was brilliant seeing the times people could come up with when there's a prize on the line.

Hopefully there will be, but I have yet to figure out the specifics. Asking people to do the whole thing in "X" amount of time seems to be a bit much.

And adding to your previous statement, yes, it is much easier than people give it credit for. Sure, it's a challenge, but isn't that half the fun? People complain that the campaign was too short anyway. This is an easy way to not only lengthen the campaign, but also increase the challenge. Restarting the mission (at least most of the time) isn't that big a deal, but look at games like Resident Evil, where if you die and forgot to save, you have to restart the entire game!

I think Solo Legendary All Skulls On needs some challenge in possible further games. Perhaps Solo Mythic All Skulls On would be cool feature for people who wants something interesting from Halo and insanely hard game you possibly could achieve.

It would be nice if there was an emblem for it at least. People would be more inclined to give it a go if there was a light at the end of the tunnel for their accomplishment IMO. It wouldn't be for just the select few happen to really enjoy playing campaign.
