I was on the storm, and I was at the scarab, and my damn marines kept jumping on the missile pod, so I'd push em off the ledge to the lakebed, but then they'd run right back up and jump on the turrent, and what do you know? They get the scarab gun, and the turrents break. So I decide to try to jump down on the scarab. I'm up high, it's stopped, I go in for the jump, it takes a step back. I die from fall damage.... wtf... The Scarab was always my problem. First, I found that if you tell the guy to get off the missile pod right at the start of it, he stays off.
From what I can tell, once you tell him to get off, the marine will do nothing unless you get on the other missile pod. I had the best runs when my marines died horrible deaths, but that happened rarely. I might also point out that I found it much easier to destroy the Scarab with a ripped off missile pod once the shield was exposed, though I'd make sure you have the second one still up just in case.
And whatever you do, stay the hell away from the Arbiter when he has those rockets, even if all the enemies are dead. Oh yes, and when you go stand behind the pillars, don't stand right next to them, you take splash damage through the pillar.
