Halo 3: ReV Eskimo

eventually ill be back on Reach and CEA. i enjoy gaming for fun, im a great player and i enjoy smoking while i play. so any chill players feel free to add me. I in NO way support halocharts; old username.

for boarding the scarab there is a part on top, a small tunnel and enemies dont come up there. if you stay in there if you get pinned the brutes will lose interest and go back downstairs or back around to the scarab gut core.you even have a few rockets to spare(3) so i use them on brutes before i exchange it for a PP. i just got tired of of the 20 minute battle.sometimes your team mates will get in front of you and you hit them with a missle pod and the splash damage kills you.that has happened to me AT LEAST 3 times.

i also use my quick method with cortana. when coming back to the skull room i just run and and go guns/sword blazing.i have died 2 times from scouting the area and a flood infection form bites me and i die.that is the only part in the game that the infection forms never end, trust me, ive spent endless times trying to kill them all, they keep coming.you just have to see the flood before they see you and be precise with shots.its worked 2/2 times for me, but i wouldnt recommend it for mythic 1st timers.

I'm a great guy really.

Then I be watching and reading the walkthrough soon enough... next time i can, I always thought Sierra was going to be easier. You would expect the covenant to be one of the harder ones.

Jimmatt, Sierra 117 is much harder than The Covenant in my opinion.
I can almost clear The Covenant in roughly 35 minutes. I'll upload a video tommorow and send it to you. It may not be finished, but it may help you a lot.

Alright thanks... sure ur kamikaze style could be very useful to me... I won't go as fast but yeh. I was wondering how hard the other levels would be because I only got past the sniper forest on Sierra once.

Crow's Nest Drone fight is now rendered for people to stream. Not the most original method but it's quite useful. If you're not familiar with the turret method in this area, give it a watch.

Lol, you've got to keep them in front of you, don't jump on the turret if they're beside you. If you see one try to pass the shield, just take it down.

Either way, this method is the most comfortable for me, I've never died using it and I've actually died a couple of time trying anything else...stupid me.

I'm so stuck on Sierra 117, would you say it's worth me trying the covenant?

Sierra 117 is one of the three toughest missions, so absolutely. The Covenant is far easier due to the fact that for roughly half the mission, you'll have a Marine accompanying you with the Spartan Laser.

EDIT: I may see if I can get at least one charge left for the final sequence so I can pass it on to Arbiter. Can he use it? I've never tried before.

I had a charge left yesterday, but once Arby hops off his Phantom and Spark activates the bridge he becomes utterly invincible (and his weapons are reset to his default Plasma Rifle and Energy Sword). At one point in the Citadel I attempted to give him a Fuel Rod Gun, but after bashing his shields off no amount of headshots could kill him.

for the drone fight on crows nest i get what brute shot ammo i can from the hangar and the hallway and take out the few drones with it. after that i have a turret that i bring WITH me from the hangar and i use it in small bursts.kills them all with only 50 rounds or so.i can stay all the way back in the hall and shoot through the gated section safe and sound too.

Back to The Storm. Here's what I learned tonight. Is it possible to get through the next area after the Scarab without a Rocket Launcher? Yes. Is it wise? No!

First off, do NOT, I repeat DO NOT enter the second lake bed without a Rocket Launcher. It will severely handicap the remainder of the mission for you. The Arbiter is not nearly as effective with the Missile Pod as he is the Rocket Launcher. Because of this, the warehouse took more than TWICE as long as it normally does which defeats the purpose of speeding up the Scarab battle completely. Do not leave finding a Rocket Launcher to chance.

Here's the conclusion I have come to. Gazas' methods are fun but are more suited towards seasoned Mythic players. He might say that it's a matter of taste. This only holds true if your taste is to get your arse handed to you over and over again. Do the slow and steady methods first. While the longer version of the Scarab fight does have risks assosiated with it, they are ultimately fewer than the faster method.

Again, the faster methods are certainly doable, but are NOT recommended for first-timers.

XD

Anyway, clearly you're just concerned about the safety of the beginners, I understand that type of thing since you're doing it for beginners.

I sincerely hope that quote above was towards the beginners and not people like like. Because I see no fun at all in not doing that. If you don't know how to handle a situation like that and get killed off easily, well then maybe you're just not good enough and you can use the S&S method.

A good thing beginners can do, if they want to try something more, is to practice harder methods and become good at it so it won't be as hard in the real Mythic, that's what I did.

Yup. That was strictly geared towards beginners.

Now don't get me wrong. I have fun trying the faster methods, and thanks to Rabbit's tip, I now have a safe haven on the Scarab, but the main issue I have with your method is the possibility of their not being a Rocket Launcher to go into the next area with. I'm not sure which ones despawn and so forth. I'll have to experiement this weekend. It may be necessary to keep one with you at all times if you want to bring it with you to the next area. Again, the next area is certainly doable without Arbiter wielding the Rocket Launcher, but it takes much too long considering you don't have tons of plasma weapons at your disposal.

I'd also recommend detaching the Missile Pods before boarding the Scarab. My number one cause of death during that fight was getting killed by missiles.

Also, does the Power Drain stop the Scarab from moving?

I have only succeeded in doing Floodgate and Halo, like the two easiest missions. For some reason I just can't do anything else.

EDIT: Does scoring have to be on for it to count as Mythic?

he, guys

on 'halo' i used a grenade jump to get on in the upper platform quickly, so im at the end and all of the flood turn into those big wannabe hunter type thingy's, and i have my BR and rocketlauncher left. How do i complete this part? Like alot of flood seem to be rushing me at this moment. (Sorry for the typo, I'm kind of drunk because it's my last year in school and we has this BBQ type of thing.)

If you super-jump to the top of the tower, and follow the ledge over to where Johnson is located, you won't need to engage them at all. Check out my Halo 2.0 video to get a better idea. Or the original walkthrough video which is also in my file share.

You would think but it does not. At least not when I try.

I remember someone using one on the Scarab on The Storm in a promo video before the game was actually released, but I vaguely remember trying it myself only to find that it didn't work.

Yes I was going to write that in my previous post. Some IGN video showing the Scarab fight. The guy who commented said "He's throwing a Power Drain to disable it's mechanism.", although the Scarab was supposed to stand still at that moment.

haha, throwing a power drainer at a scarab is like throwing a marshmallow at a charging rhino. sorry, i thought it was funny to add.it didnt work with me, i tried it ONCE.it didnt work and i never tried it again.

i think im going to use the quick methods for the crows nest motor pool. at least when its just the hammer and 2 carbine brutes.i used the slow method but before i can ever see the brutes foot, they can see my face.i found this out the hard way.so im going to wait for them to lose interest and then find a cozy spot to and use my PP to beat them.....hehe, had to say that too.
