Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Hey, I'm back after what seems like a fair while and I'm getting ready for that mythic contest that's coming up. On another note, I've started to help out Muzza with mythic or CLASO for practice. We were doing the storm and we kept trying different methods to get past the first hall of enemies. We died a lot but I've found it really enjoyable to be honest and I'm going to continue helping him out as much as I can.

I still look over the thread almost every day when I can so I'm glad to see this:

Mythic Conqueror #22

More information regarding Mythic difficulty can be found at this thread

Just got The Storm done yesterday. Probably going to do either Tsavo Highway (and beat it this time) or Cortana.

P.S.
- For The Storm, I found it easier to just board the scarab than to use the missile pods. When I used the missiles it always took too long. By the time I was going for the core, the AA gun on the scarab was done shooting all the hornets/pelicans and seemed to only shoot at me. Of course then it would blow up the missile pods, my marines, and me.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Gratz! And yep. In 2.0 I boarded the Scarab instead and it seems to be a better and faster method as long as it's done properly. Just remember to detach the Missile Pods first so your Marines don't accidentally blow you up while you're onboard.

I give you Crow's Nest 2.0. There were a few things I did differently here that ultimately shortened the mission by over an hour from 1.0.

Just a few of the things:

1) In the Hanger, I spend a little bit more time on Ground Level so I can take out the Brutes quicker (rather than having so many on the Hanger floor that I can't range-shoot following the last wave) I also started using the Carbine against the Brutes on the last way to avoid having to charge them.

2) I included the Turret-Deployable Cover method for dealing with the Drones.

3) The Kamikaze method was used for the Motor Pool with a few tweaks. I no longer charge two Plasma Pistols, but instead, just one. The reason for this is because lately I've been seeing more and more berserking Brutes that use weapons. If you can't take them down quickly (particularly the Captain with the Brute Shot), you're done for. I also included the weaponless way of dealing with the Chieftain.

4) I no longer use the Hammer for the Drone tunnel. Just watch.

5) If you are able to collect the Chieftain's Invincibility from the Motor Pool, then I have a very quick way of getting through the Barracks.

6) A new method that Vince showed me for dealing with the Jump-Jet Brutes. You don't even need Arbiter for this one. Hell, I didn't even stock-pile weapons! You'll like it :-)

7) I disarmed the bomb without using any equipment.

I'm a great guy really.

Sierra WILL be done this week, I am getting further through the dam every time I reach it, now it is just taking out the sniper jackals without other covenant attacking me at the same time. Today I panicked because the two sniper jackals were still alive because I couldn't hit them with a BR and then the chieftain came along so I just ran away straight into another brute. so would I be able to use the 2.0 method, but juggle one beam rifle to the dam, leave my carbine/BR on the cliff, go under the dam, snipe the jackals and retrieve the carbine/BR still later? Or can you not get back up there or will it disappear?

Can't wait to see it, specially the Barracks part and disarming the bomb.

And you included the Turret-Deployable Cover method for dealing with the Drones, I thought you criticized that method.

Anyway, 2.0 seems to be a success. Good thinking.

Just completed my first level, Halo. 19 minutes, 11 seconds. not too shabby. I wish they were all this easy.

  • 05.31.2009 3:53 PM PDT

Signatures are for squares.

I cannot seem to be the storm or Tsavo Highway,

Tsavo Highway: I made it to the last shield generator, and a brute slipped past and boarded my wraith.

The storm: I was about to jump on the Scarab, and it took a step back and I fell to my death. =|

  • 05.31.2009 4:07 PM PDT

In the Tsavo Highway kamikaze film, it ends in under 4 minutes. I know that film clips aren't possible through campaign (only entire films). The level was only half completed. Is this a glitch on Legendary under certain circumstances, or was it just a bugged film?

I give you Crow's Nest 2.0.

It was very good, I'm not worried about the Nest any more after seeing this, in fact I'm having a go tonight, then if I can finish it this week I'll have one week before my birthday (coincides with the "safe seat" deadline for the final raffle) to get The Ark complete.

And thanks to DarkDEVASTAT1ON for finding my game stats and putting them up here when I ran afoul of the Disembodied Soul.

Jimmatt: I got your message last night, but since it would be a long response I thought I'd put it here;
I had no trouble with Sniper Forest, just hope Arby behaves and be patient and it's easy. Then for the dam I used a mixture of Version 1.0 and Version 2.0; I stockpiled weapons, but not many (I had 1 BR, 4 Plasma Pistols, 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 Beam Rifle however I ran out of BR ammo towards the middle of the battle so I'd recommend bringing a Cabine too if you can find one).
NB: for this section I doubt I would have completed it if at the crashed Pelican Arbiter hadn't ran back to me holding a PP and I realised he needed a weapon so I gave him a Brute Shot which he seems quite efficient with.
Finally I used the 2.0 method of escaping form the dam by running intot he underpass and waiting for the cavalry to arrive.

I may end up tweaking Crow's Nest 2.0 just a tad bit. I think I may have found a way to combine the S&S and Kamikaze methods for the Motor Pool to still make it fast without putting the player at so much risk with berserking Brutes with weapons drawn, Cowbell skull effects, and being ganged up on by 3-4 Brutes. I'll test it tonight and time it as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering why they seem to berserk with their weapons drawn 51% of the time now a days.

In the Motor Pool, it almost always seems to happen with the first Brute I Plasma Pistol. You'll notice in 2.0 I avoided the Captain with the Brute Shot right off the bat and got the guy with the Spiker instead :-P This is why I don't do two at once anymore. Too risky. This new way, though, may be far more efficiant. I'll test it tonight just to be sure.

Thank you, I'll stockpile a carbine and maybe a PP, though grunts drop them and give arby a brute shot as it sounds a good idea. BR and beam rifle on me, I may even be able to juggle a PP down underneath the dam while running there.

Ugh. As much as I hate continually putting things off, I have to say I won't be online for Tri-Mythic today. Maybe not tomorrow either, it all depends.

Understand that a good friend who moved away two years ago has recently moved back. Not to mention another friend of mine is staying in town for the summer, I'm obviously enjoying having them around.

So, just try and be patient with me if I keep coming on and saying I won't be able to make it. If you don't see a message from me that day, presume I'll be on. I'm not enough of a jerk I'd just leave you guys waiting on me when I'm not going to be there.

On that note, when we do start...what level are we going with?

No prob, dude. We are starting on Thursday at 6pm EST at Matclan's request. So you're in the clear :-)

BTW, I used that new Jump-Jet method for the Crow's Nest 2.0 guide :-) Though I don't have a Deployable Cover to use against the third wave if I choose to use the Chieftain's Invincibility to skip the Barracks, I'm able to use almost the same method against the second wave since they spawn right behind me. I just use one of the active camos and assassinate them :-)

  • 06.01.2009 11:19 AM PDT

I'm a great guy really.

Skulls were mentioned for at least the firefight mode in Halo: ODST so things are looking good for mythic, but it doesn't seem the sort of campaign that mythic could easily apply to, as it seems more free roam. Anyway, it seems like an amazing game, just like reach hopefully.

hey dude, in the strom level, there is an easyer way to deal with the final anti air thingy than hoping on the chain gun though it does require some preperation. after the fight with the hunters, go into the buildings on the left. you should find a sniper rifle. grab that but dont use it right away. after going into the area with the chain gun, look to the right of it and search around it for a second sniper rifle, now unlode on the batery and you should be set!

You don't even need to do that. Two hits from an overcharged Plasma Pistol and it goes down completely. Check out my 2.0 guide ;-)
