yes, you can drive all the way to the choppers on tsavo highway and survive. it only works 1/3 times though.you have to know the route and hope that factors like the brute shot or grenades will not flip you. sometimes even a sniper shot can flip the hog.it is possible though.

Hey guys. Been a while. Been busy with graduation parties and such. I hope to have The Covenant done tonight, and I'll continue working on Sierra 117. Both missions I have come incredibly and impossibly close to finishing.

In recent news... Wow. So much has happened. New forums, ODST gameplay is out, we've been shown Halo: Reach, and our own Bungie.net got a new background.

Also, as it would appear, my My Tips To Reach 50! thread is now under "Top Forum Topics" which is really sweet as well.

Damn. I've been pretty blown away by all these new things!

Well, you watched that Tsavo video of mine with me, so you know my approach. In the first lakebed with the snipers, it's best to go in, and turn slightly to the left, and then it almost always focus's all enemy fire on your marines. As you go up that hill for the small little jump, let go of hte joystick or you'll flip.

Then, just drive down and you're clear. I then try to jump out, and the sniper jackals will be runnin down behind that wall, with their heads between their hands, which allows for easy beat downs to get your shield back.

I then go to the right, instead of the left, to get behind the 2nd chopper, and then you saw how I would just drive straight up to the shield door as soon as the choppers were up the hill.

Oh, sorry. I jumped in a little late. I just saw someone mentioning Tsavo, so I thought we were there. I appologize.

As an update, my capture card will not work on my older desktop. I've installed drivers time and time again, tried different capturing software, but my computer just simply wont accept it. I'll just have to wait till I pick up my new desktop.

Yeah, I have no idea how people jumped from Crow's Nest to Tsavo Highway. I'm done with Tsavo. 2.0 has been written and finalized. I have nothing more to offer for that mission, and there will not be a 3.0. ODST will be out in a few months, so I'm going to wrap up 2.0 to give more people a chance to win Recon during our Summer Mythic Challenges, then I'm going to move on to the new game. After seeing the trailers, it looks like far too much fun to ignore.

That's the plan :-) Mythic will continue to live on through the generations of Halo.

It starts on the 12th. Keep your eyes on the Bungie Blog. There will be details on the Floodgate Challenge released next week to the general public.

Ok, before I go to bed, here's my hypothesis. I may display it on video if you don't understand so just tell me.

Without getting spotted, go through the right or left windows, both of them, to the corner. Two Brutes will march out but they won't be able to see you. The Captain with his dreaded Brute Shots will show up and stand right in front of you, any wrong move and he will spot you.

Right when the Captain stands still, go behind him and assassinate him, no one will notice unless you're a little clumsy and do it in front of their eyes. When he's dead, quickly march back to either behind the truck or the other side, keep in mind that the Brutes are patrolling here and will either keep walking or go after you if thy spotted you assassinating the Captain (which is why the assassination has to be done quick so they can't see it). Quickly kill the two patrolling Brutes. You may go crazy and crash bang boom them both or try and assassinate them too, I've never done it though.

My hypothesis is that they'll both drop Bubble Shields. After they're down, Plasma Pistol one or two Brutes and kill them, use cover too. When they're closing up, throw down a Bubble. Use the go around and assassinate method inside the bubble to take down those who came close enough to the Bubble. When no one is around, take the second Bubble and throw it closer to the Chieftain. From here you may have picked up another Bubble with some luck. Use the same method to take down some Brutes, then continue to drop Bubbles if you get them that is.

You may or may not kill all Brutes but by the time there are no Bubbles left and you've successfully killed some Brutes inside the bubble, you can now deal with a lot less Brutes.

It can happen that two will approach in one Bubble at the same time but that should be easy to handle.

So as you said, you can always test them, I haven't myself. But I did use this method when doing some CLASO with MATCLAN, who should remember how I kept dropping Bubbles and going forward, assassinating Brute after Brute. We were two though...

Since I haven't tried this alone, there is a possibility that I've made no sense somewhere.

Tested and failed. Any other ideas?

So far, S&S seems to be the only method that works most of the time. I'd like to see anyone, and I mean anyone here dispute that and back it up with evidence.

tyrant, i gave the crows nest 2.0 a look through. im lucky my theater mode let me. it hasnt with ANY other 2.0 videos. id have to say its pretty much kamikaze the entire way through. i just dont feel new comers are going to be able to tackle it that well. not only does it require great timing but the gameplay is something that most players couldnt do on heroic, legendary and i doubt mythic.there is also so many other factors that you got lucky to avoid. for a new comer to come into 2.0 crows nest and get as lucky and tackle it with perfect timing and precision isnt going to happy. if the 2.0 video was meant to be a kamikazi method than i feel stupid for saying all this, hahaha.

2.0 crows nest WILL help someone like me though. ive beaten it and explored with ideas often on most mythic levels so its not new to me.is the 2.0 for "advanced" mythic players?

Some of my methods in that actual film were a bit sloppy to say the least. I've perfected the Hangor for the most part, and the Jump-Jet battle is far from Kamikaze. It's a definite win-win, but I added a way to deal with the third wave that wasn't in 2.0. The only real Kamikaze method in there was the Motor Pool. I'm still working on a Hybrid method...

One of the few and the proud, a Mythic Conqueror, I am.

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know how my Mythic counquering was going. I just finished The Covenant and that leaves me at 7/9 missions completed.

I went in chronological order so I'm left with Cortana and Halo.

It's been a good day. I finished both The Ark and The Covenant.

Maybe I'll get the last two done tomorrow. I started my Mythic on May 30 so I've been at it for five days. If I stretch the next two missions over two days it'll be a nice 7. I might just go ahead and finish tomorrow to get it over with.

Good luck to everyone else trying for Mythic.

Thanks for testing I mean, worth a shot.

When I get back home I'll see if I can find anything else. So far the kamikaze method that you've used has been my only method.

Here's another guess you may try out: Go sneaky and assassinate them all. =)

This is what I have learned, though. I believe my slightly revised S&S method doesn't really take that much longer than the Kamikaze one. It's just not as fun to watch (which doesn't really matter when doing a walkthrough...) Instead of stockpiling, I just grab Plasma Pistols as I need them. That's the only real tedious part of the battle, but far less annoying than ordinary stockpiling. I can even still do my double plasma shot that I open up with in Kamikaze. Almost all of my shots connect the first time, and since the Brutes still seem to use and hide behind their equipment no matter which method I use, there's still that same waiting period.

Plus, when you are doing it 1.0 style, it's easy to get your shields back whenever you want. In Kamikaze, it really isn't all that convenient in most case to assassinate a berserking Brute when you have two others lobbing grenades your way while avoiding the effects of the Cowbell skull at the same time.

Also, I've reached a point where once the Carbine Brutes are dead, I tend to run out, grab that last 100% Plasma Pistol by the truck, and finish off the rest. At that point, there aren't very many, and there's little to no need to retreat back to the Ops Center.

It's slightly altered from the original 1.0, but it keeps the same basic concept. I think I'll use this one.

I had to do that.

ODST is looking absolutely beautiful from the trailer, and Dark noticing a menu for skulls only psychs me further. ODST Mythic is going to be awesome. Can't wait for the chance to co-op that.

Maybe if we're lucky, we can finish Halo 3 Tri and Quad-Mythic before it comes out.

As for a new method for the Motor Pool, I've got jack. My best idea is in 1.0.

Agreed on all points.

In regards to Multi-Mythic, if we want to shorten the time, perhaps now would be a good time to allow Shadow to jump in. He's doing very well on his own Quest and it seems that he would make a good support player like MATCLAN.

For the Motor Pool, I agree. Any other method I've come across so far either takes longer or is just far too risky. 9/10 I can make it with the 1.0 method, and if I just take Plasma Pistols when I need them rather than over-stocking from the get-go, the time gap between S&S and Kamikaze isn't that huge. Because of the new shoot & slide method, I can land almost every single one of my shots, and as mentioned above, I can even take out two at once at the beginning just like Kamikaze. Best of all, Cowbell is not a concern.

This seems to be the best method for newcomers.
