If I bring a Carbine and Beam Rifle tonight can I keep them please? Maybe I could even be jumped up on top of the lobby and snipe the Jump-Pack Brutes?

Cool with me.

Could have been faster aswell. He picked up the Regen and didn't use it. He also flipped his Warthog after jumping the bridge.

Edit: I recently got Firefox and Coup d'Bungie. Its fun to use. My text is yellow and my title is "Mythic Conqueror #5"

No, the film must be submitted during the week of the contest. The completion of the mission must also fall under these 7 days. i.e: 12th of June - 19th of June. Complete Floodgate on Mythic in that timeframe and then save and submit the film which should mention "Mythic difficulty" in the description.
Please read the posted article thoroughly next time, otherwise I'm sure that everyone who has read and understood it is going to be running out of patience over the next 9 weeks as they explain the rules to those who just saw the words "Recon" and "contest" before jumping the gun.

Well I didn't jump the gun I read it but I see your point. at least it gives me time to shorten how long it took me the first time

I'm a great guy really.

Sierra 117... died on the dam twice in a row but definitely getting better, my problem is now being overwhelmed when underneath the dam. I was happily picking off grunts and killed the most threatening sniper jackal but then I had to run from the chieftain, who made me run right into my death. Not sure how to approach this still, I juggled a carbine for spare also later on but it's hard to not get trapped down there.

I gave Arbiter a Brute Shot. He dominates the dam with that thing and even respawns with it should he fall into the water. Otherwise it sounds like you're doing everything right according to 2.0, personally I prefer the 1.0 approach but the 2.0 escape. Keep up the good work and eventually you will succeed as you adapt to the battle more and it becomes more natural to you.

Personally I have come to the conclusion that Crow's Nest is easier than Sierra 117. For a start there are only 2 Jackal Sniper who you can set "traps" for. Secondly, there are a lot of weapon racks in this mission which are exempt from Famine's effect. Thirdly, the individual sections or encounters seem less random than those in Sierra making the mission easier to plan.
If you want to see how to trap Jackals and a cool way of rushing the "re-arm the bomb" section that Gazas showed me you can find my video here. Hope this helps.

Damn! I remembered you said that before, but I forgot it today, I remember thinking about it yesterdayday but I never reached the dam, oh well thank you anyway. I'm sure I can do it before it becomes the challenge, and the covenant aswell, I'm confident. The word patience is now starting to come into my mind so I'm doing better.

Yeah, don't be afraid to dither out of sight for a while before triggering the cutscene. Hell, even take a break and get a snack and a drink if it will help you stay calm, although I like it when near the end of a mission my adrenaline is pumping to give me better twitch responses.
Just remember that if you want to you can pause the game and it doesn't run into the film so you can leave it and check the walthrough or invite someone who's done the mission to private chat to ask for advice or come to the forums and see if anyone can help. As long as you stay patient you shouldn't have a problem even if you die because you'll realise what you did wrong and try to avoid it next time. You could even take notes if you have a pen and paper handy, I've never tried it myself but I can see that it would work if there's a small detail that you think is important but easy to forget.
If you're still having problems tomorrow I'll try and walk you through a video or two if you want. Although I might be busy with the Ark, I want to make the safe seat deadline lol.

It's not the nerves really, I may just need to watch the 2.0 film again because I know there is something I'm doing wrong. I've died way too many times to get nervous now lol, been there too much :P

That may be useful also thank you if you walk me through, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be around tomorrow or most the weekend.

That's good I guess, although it must make it a little more frustrating.BTW, edited above post and just wanna ask, do you use my method to skip the river or do you stick it out?

I use your method and it's only failed me twice due to extremely bad aim, without your method I'd be very stuck lol.

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

I failed every time trying to skip the river, I did manage to do it once but the 77 Brutes and 876 Grunts that I left behind followed me into the Sniper Forest.

Thanks, I used to try DarkDEVASTAT1ON's grenade jump, but I disliked entering Sniper Forest with low shields and occasioanlly stuck myself when accidenatly using Plasma 'nades. I knew there had to be a better way so I jumped around for a bit and got stuck on a ledge and the rest is history.
Still, you do need to be fast about the Jackals because if they get a lock on your position you're beyond screwed. Still, I prefer that than fighting an army of Brutes and Grunts under very 1 sided rules of engagement. Which leads me onto this:
Today after the Motor Pool battle on Crow's Nest I realised that in order to succeed at Mythic you need to force the AI to play on your terms rather than allowing the game to dictate how to play. Whether this works by skipping sections, glitching or just being cautious I think it's a good lesson to be learned.

I'm surprised, I thought such a rush would be right up your street, in fact when I first did it I thought "Gazas will enjoy this." And usually if you're too slow only 1 Brute, 1 Shielded Jackal and about 4-5 Grunts follow you into the forest.
Still it's so close to that start of the mission if you skip the opening battle that the risk/reward is - to me at least - wothwhile.

No worries, my friend. I had the same issue, hence why I didn't incorporate it.

It really does sound harder than it is, if you can take out the 2 snipers in 4 jumps and therefore 4 shots out of the water, then you've done it. nothing else will attack you unless you mess up completely. I agree with matclan that it is the best method.

One of the few and the proud, a Mythic Conqueror, I am.

Has it ever been brought to your attention that if you shoot a charged plasma bolt at the gap in between a brute's legs they will not dodge it?

I was playing through Sierra 117, and even though I was well inside their awareness window, if I aimed at the gap between their legs(in a way that would seemingly miss) they would not dodge and the bolt would seemingly impact upon air and take their armor away.
