I have a question how is crowsnest so hard?
Well... you're in close quarters with Brutes. Now, this is a tough challenge, but at the same time, this level will give you the more Mythic experience than any other level. Once you can beat this level, you've got the others in the bag. What's cool about the Mythic levels is that each one in terms of difficulty will prepare you for the next.
Here's what I'm talking about...
If you go in MY order, here's what you'll learn-
Floodgate- It's floodgate. Come on. But this will introduce you to Mythic and The Flood.
Halo- Ups the ante a little by providing you with more pure and elite forms to deal with. They are also now wielding weapons. But, you are still going against Flood.
The Storm- Now here is where things are going to slow down. Now you've got to get used to fighting Covenant, who are in a completely different league of their own. The fights here play out much like those in Tsavo, so you'll be prepared for that.
Tsavo Highway- This and The Storm can be interchanged as far as difficulty goes. The biggest thing you'll learn here is Line of Sight.
Cortana- So you're going back to the Flood. They're easy mode in comparison to Covenant troops. This level may take some time as you perfect your run, particularly your run back through Hell's Hallway. Point is, you'll be prepared to fight the flood thanks to the other levels slowly bringing different flood unit types in. Once you're done, you've pretty much got flood troops out of the way from Mythic.
The Covenant- Again, you're going to start fighting Covenant baddies. The best thing to take from this level is some close combat fighting in the towers, and learning to Pop n Shoot (or whatever we ended up calling it... where you pop out with the Plasma Pistol, fire, then duck into cover real quick so the brutes wont move as the PP hits them). Also, this level will give you some practice with the Tank, which is going to help with The Ark. At the end, you'll be back to fighting some Flood. Good thing you had all that practice, right? Now you're DONE with Flood.
Crow's Nest- This is where you'll get more Mythic learnin' than any other level. From all the close combat fights with brutes, they no longer become an issue in any other level. Once you're finished here, you are the master of close combat. Biggest thing to remember is that even though you are in hallways and cramped spaces, there are a lot of corners to jump behind.
The Ark- I found this level to be easier than Crow's Nest. I was in chat with Tyrant, and when I saved and quit at the prowlers just to go on, and then my first time passed the group of ghosts under the Famine Skull's location, I beat the level. Unfortunately, because I saved and quit, I did not have scoring, so I had to restart, but then my first try I beat the level again. The biggest thing about this mission is that at the very end, it is close combat. That's why I and everybody else recommends doing Crow's Nest first. You dont want to be an hour and a half into the mission, and then die near the end just because you aren't familiar with close combat.
Sierra 117- I dont know about you guys, but this level gave me the most trouble. The fighting style of this level is unlike any other. Mostly its ranged combat, which really doesn't play too big a roll in the other levels. So really, this level helps you prepare yourself for this level.
But there you go. Thats what I've seen as the troubles with each mission, why they're difficult, and what you should try to pull from each experience. Enjoy the ride. I'm sadface now that I'm done... all I have now is to perfect my runs... but I feel so prepared for each levels... sigh...
