What if you quickly shoot all of the Jackals?

The enemy will be alerted but will they kill you as fast?

You could. But I'd only do this if I had a bubble shield.

Well, then just rushing it seems to be good enough, that jump isn't exactly a hard one.

Avid gamer since 'Pong' (yeah - I'm that old).

Halo Campaigner since the early days of Halo: CE

It's how you play the game that counts most.

I've done Tsavo Highway so many times - I have no problems getting to the Wraiths at the end - but that is where I'm stuck. I've tried doing the PP/BR to take out the gunners - but I have a problem doing it from under the bridge. I have loads of patience - it just seems that the Wraiths always know that I'm there.

Is there an alternate place to take out the Wraiths - or an alternate path to take? I've completed the first three challenges - and I so want to finish this Quest (I'm not even worried about Recon).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Wow!
Tried the Covenant for the first time today. I got to the flood on the 3rd barrier tower. I found the other parts of the mission very easy actually.

I'm a great guy really.

I'm struggling to get the exact spot where I have to boost the chopper up the hill at the end of Tsavo to get up on the bridge, apart from that it's a pretty easy mission this week. I would just take it slow but I can feel a time under 4:30 coming, if I can work out where I need to boost up.

Liam's approval

I wonder if bungie would actually make these "quests" possible? Anyway once lots of people get recon then bungie will make a new even cooler armor and it will happen all over again. Its only a video game.

What do you mean by possible? 17 people and a walkthrough prove that it is definitely possible.
And lots of people aren't going to get Recon, at least not until ODST; even then we may be surprised.

To Jimmatt: For the sake of the contest go for slow and steady, then beat 4:30. That way you're guaranteed an easy spot in the raffle and you can devote as much time as you like towards setting records.

If it gets to the last day okay, but I ain't too bothered about the contest, the time is my biggest goal, determined.

Dw jim, I'll go through it with you tomorrow ;)

Naa not really. Umm I can't see how you can miss it tbh, there's like a small gap between a bush and a rock if I remember correctly. Just boost up the cliff face.

Yep, I found it easily enough when I was practicing. I suppose the problem is timing it so you don't get pasted across the front of a Chopper.

Do you guys think I will be able to get caught up if I get my xbox halfway through Cortana's week? My xbox just broke and normally I practice and study the level a whole week before, but now I'm going to need to complete Cortana, The Covenant and possibly Sierra in ONE week. I don't have a good feeling about this. =P

Well personally I was struggling with cortana until I realised just how easy it really is, so you might just be able to catch that one up.

Then personally I'll probably target 2 of the remaining 4. Most likely I'll attempt the covenant, as from what I've heard it's easier than sierra, crows nest and the ark. But I'm undecided between the rest. Patience appears to be a strongpoint of mine, but they all seem to take ages lol.

Well personally I was struggling with cortana until I realised just how easy it really is, so you might just be able to catch that one up. As for the rest of the missions, I expect I'll take atleast a few weeks to complete some of them (Sierra for instance). No idea how good you are at mythic, but I'd say anything is possible (If you never sleep. =P).

As for the remaining 4 missions, I'll probably target 2 of them. I'll definitely be attempting the covenant, but I'm undecided between sierra and crows nest.

Sierra, at least I can give you tips there ingame.

Sounds good, don't suppose you know the order of the remaining missions for the contest?

The last one's the hardest.

I only have 3 days to complete Tsavo and I haven't really done in since I last completed it but it shouldn't be hard.

Not really, fattest town in England. Anyway, off topic here soooo... I'm going to complete Tsavo soon, I'm going to complete Sierra soon and I'm going to complete mythic about 5 months after you,.

  • 07.05.2009 2:42 PM PDT

You should really finish it before me. I reckon you probably act better in a tough situation. Faced with a chieftain you'd quickly think about an assassination. I'd scream, drop my br and jump off the nearest cliff. =]

  • 07.05.2009 2:47 PM PDT

I think Tsavo should be relatively easy... I did a practice run-through without iron on and I only died 5 times - at the sniper part (my marines kept driving off without me) and at the wraith part as I ran out of BR ammo. Which brings me to my next point - where's the nearest BR ammo cache to the wraiths? I want to make sure I have a good amount of ammo at that point.

But you have patience, which is key to many of the fights, because when I can't kamikaze I end up messing up, whereas you don't get bored or lose concentration. Kamikazing helps you deal with random situations like that, just like on my original storm run, where I escaped a chieftain after me with no allies and killed him by using my initiative. :P You don't really get into those situations because of your (frustrating) patience but wait until Sierra onwards :P

As you get to that last area - there's a BR right next to the over turned Puma - err - Warthog.

Nearest BR cache would be in the largest building before going through the shield door and jumping the broken road. There's also a single BR near the overturned 'hog just before heading to Wraith hill.

Which makes us good partners for CLASO, since we're both good at different stuff L. Not that floodgate was much of a test, it was more of a joke than anything.

Edit: Mythic Co-op* - Since I know you think CLASO is for benders.
