Me and my ODST we are our own breed, forged from combat and bread from years of battle as ODST. So you can take your -blam!- ODST clan invites and shove 'em. Rookies don't run jack, we do.

I'm not going to lie Mythic is TOUGH! I'm 6/9 at the moment, trying for the last 3.

Tackle Cortana this week, then The Covenant, then The Ark.

Thanks for the advice. I am confident that I have at least the determination to become one of the relative few that has stuck with Mythic. As there is no way I am ever going to reach an exceedingly high rank in matchmaking, I am hoping to use Mythic as an equal (if not tougher) challenge.

Also, would you guys recommend joining Tyrant's group once I begin? Is it active and helpful to do so?

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Wow, Sierra looks so hard. I figure I'll practice all week, Cortana is all ready done for me, re-do it friday, have Sierra down by its week. then I do crows nest all Sierra's week, and hopefull I'll have almost two weeks for the Ark. Any flaws?

The group is really just a place to track your progress. I'm in it, and you can not post on others threads or make multiple threads. Just one for your quest. Really, if all you need is advice just stay right here, all the advice you need is here.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

just wondering how many people have completed the game
with mythic difficulty

18 to date. We'll probably be looking at the 20 - 25 range by the time ODST is released. Kinda seems a little too few considering the time Halo 3 has been available and the amount of players playing. :-(

yeah i know what yeah mean im gunna go for it
just wanna do it before odst.

I believe it has to be a video of start to finish no deaths
you'll just have to restart it and everytime you die save and quit then reload the map
then start again.

The Cortana part of the contest hasn't begun yet, so no. If you had done it in the appropriate week that film would have been fine though.

From experience, what map would you guys recommend I try on Mythic, after I complete Floodgate?

Thanks also for the info on the group. I will probably join (once I start) and post about my progress. It seems like a good means of keeping track on how others are doing as well. And good luck for those that are now on their last few missions.

If you haven't did Halo yet, then you should do it next. In my opinion its the second easiest one.

Sounds good if you ask me, Sierra shouldn't be a problem, don't worry about that level. Crow's Nest can be a little hard and The Ark, well that level is just long so the more you get used to that one, the better.

Meh, Sierra's easy except for the dam. Landing headshots with the Sniper/Beam Rifle against two other snipers is a pain depending on their location. Then you need to make sure you don't run out of ammo for everything else.
At least Crow's Nest doesn't have such a high concentration of snipers. For that alone I'd say it's easier especially with most of the newfound tricks and glitches.

Either way they're both hard, so good luck with Sierra 117, Mole.

Cortana starts tomorrow right?

Shouldn't be a problem, even though I've only played it since I completed it. Funny thing is, it's my favorite mission when I'm not playing on Mythic.

I completed Sierra 117 a couple of times before the challenges started as I thought it would be the first mission. =) So it shouldn't be a problem for me either.

But Crow's Nest can get on my nerves, I'll probably download some videos to check out the new stuff that I've missed.

Yeah, you should see some videos of the new stuff (I actually used your Invis rush to re-arm the bomb and escape :-) ).
And Cortana will be easy, although I reckon the psychological damage it will do to those likely to give up will stop them coming back for another round (unless The Covenant already did that with Tower 3 and the Scarabs. :-P)

Haha...

There's a slight chance that I won't be able to do any of the missions, seeing as I should see my fourth RROD come anytime soon. Pretty weird though, has anyone else survived 3 RRODs?

No, although I've survived one. It was caused by a buildup of dust inside the 360. Luckily the warranty had just ran out and my dad knew someone form work who liked tinkering with consoles. In short he took it apart and vacuumed to dust out, then told us that it should be serviced in such a way every 6 months. Not sure if that could help or not, but there you go.

It's how you play the game that counts most.

All electronic equipment worth anything should be serviced every 6 months (says the hypocrite).

Practice, practice and more pracitce. Don't expect things to be the same twice over and always double check for hidden enemies and the like.

And one more thing - don't get confident/cocky. I just had finished clearing out Tower 1 and had a Grunt left that I wanted to bash to get my shields up. Advance on his position - toss a grenade to make him dive - jump over the crate to get to him as he tosses a sticky at me. I hear that horrible *click* sound.

*sigh*

Time to restart.

I think I'm going to get a head start on Cortana. I believe I have a better chance with that level. After failing the Covenant over 50 times by unexplainable reasons, I think I'm going to leave the Covenant for another time. Wish me luck...
I'm going to need it. :)
