OMG, the SAME THING just happened again. Both times I kamikazed the chieftain, could that have something to do with my failure?

EDIT: I was only playing the mission for 35 minutes, so it wasn't that much of a loss... right?

Want my tip? Don't go for the last Chieftain. Use the Cloak to arm the bomb and get the hell out of there without killing anything. You won't have to worry about dying as long as you don't bump in to any enemy.

Good idea, I had both camouflages still available at the time. I know the chieftain will still be able to see you, but he will not shoot, correct?

Edit: Damn, ten seconds is a short amount of time. Using this method is a lot harder than it seems.

Pelican Hop FTW!

I practiced the technique for 20mins or so @ a rally point on normal difficulty. Making
the leap first time, everytime.. I feel comfortable enough so, Im going to try and use it
next run.. Considering I was left for dead in the elevator with no Deployable on my last
run.. Should have tried the hop then!

Now that ive seen the light, Pelican Hop FTW! =P

Guys... I did the impossible. I beat one of Pahat Pojat's record Mythic times!!!!!!!!!!! I did Cortana SLASO in 8:35... a full minute faster than him! I screwed up majorly twice though, so I am going to do it again and shave off at least 15 seconds before uploading it to my file share and sending it to High Speed Halo. Damn it feels good to be a gangster.

Okay, so if you succesfully land the pelican jump and get up to teh top you are going to want to have a deployable cover. Take this down to the door at the bottom (sorry that was left rather open), and block the clsoed door with it. Then go back up to the room filled with equipment and grab a camo. You are going to want to wait for Arby and the marines to kill enough brutes so that they trigger the next wave. This is your cue. Activate your camo and spawn kill those jump jet brutes. If they all look at you, back up for a moment and wait for them to turn. Hopefully arby can kill the rest. Then move down to where you threw the DP and assasinate all brutes their. they will not fight back, only stare helplessly at you.

As for naked eli, congrats! Pahat will probably pass your time since that is how he is, but great, great work. For now, your sitting pretty. =)

And at Dark and Gazas raffle conversation from the last page, best of luck to all of you. There are three raffles left, (I'm not sure if Sierra has been messaged, most likely not until Monday morning) so maybe we could all win. I really do think you guys deserve it, and truthfully I feel I've earned it aswell. If only all conquerors could get it, as we all know it is worthy.

OK thanks i decided to take a different approach and just wait it out and now i am up to the bomb again but as soon as i opened the door there were grunts there and you can probably guess what they tried to do but they failed so now i am starting to lose my nerves and now i want to know how many grunts and how many brutes are in the room with the bomb?

4, two brute shot brutes, one fule rod and one turret. Just take your time, wait for them to forget about you, PP on, then rinse and repeat. Good luck.

Well my nerves have now turnt to anger i tried to take out the chieftan while i was invisible and well i failed so i guess i will have to try again. My only real problems were that part and the amount of time i spent waiting.

I will try again soon and i will hopefully succeed until then wish me luck.
BTW am I the only person that has found the motor pool easy?

The motor pool is easy if you PP from the hallway. If you fight it the way the game intended, however, aka "the kamikaze method," then it is much much harder and takes quite a bit of skill.

Good job dude. Thats 2/9 missions he doesn't hold the record for. It used to be 3, with Penatonic and I holding records against him on Tsavo, but he went back and re took that mission.

Yeah, the trick here is to activate it just when you go down the steps. Since they won't notice you until they see you, so get to the steps, don't get too close, activate Cloak, run and arm the bomb and just run down. Your Cloak should disappear just when you jump down to escape.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

The mission is mentioned twice in the article ;-)

Hey Tyrant, because I submitted my Crow's Nest run Friday, and left the name as Crow's Nest because I didn't know what to call it, would I still be eligible?

  • 08.03.2009 10:31 AM PDT

Thank you, but I overlooked the article (like I always do.) I see it is Crow's Nest now.

My third fail this week. xD

Good to know.
I'd better start practicing for The Ark.

Have you also only completed it once? Makes me feel like I won't be able to complete it a second time. That mission is long and hard....it's going to be painful, the deeper I get. Imagine if I failed right in the end.

So many setups.... must resist....

Anyway, Crow's Nest and The Ark were the only missions I had beaten just once before entering SMRC. Now its just The Ark as the only mission I've beaten once.
