Hmm, while I was doing SLASO Sierra 117 today, I cleared the River and was killing the Jackals. Slowly snuck round a corner to see a Jackal shooting the Arbiter with a Beam Rifle. Suddenly I was dead! He turned and shot me instantly. Damn Snipers!

No thanks, It was just unlucky, 95% of the time I clear it. Anyway, I have a new tactic to clearing the river area, so I clear it nearly all the time now.

I got something harder for you to achieve. Try getting a 50 on your own and with no ones help.

Yes, because we all know that playing against other players in matchmaking is like have all 13 skulls in effect.

Anyways, the Scarab fight is amusing me right now. I don't even need to deal with the Brutes. Every now and then some fall off and lose their armor. There were three on board, and now I only have to deal with one if I jump on.

What method do you use?

I usually rush to the edge, take out the Grunts running around. Then after thr drop ship incident I deal with the snipers, then the remaining Grunts and carbine jackals. Then off to kill the Grunts that get dropped off by the Phantom while letting Arbiter deal with the shielded Jackals. And lastly I combo the Brutes from behind the giant boulder.

There's only one part I did SLASO on. The Covenant, where you ride in a Hornet.

Oh, and just wondering. To counteract the blind skull, do you use tape to make a crosshair on your screen?

Some people do. We don't really consider it an issue either way. The biggest problem with the Blind skull isn't your lack of crosshairs, but more so your inability of being able to monitor your health with Blackeye on as well.

I watched someones SLASO once. Two things amazed me, one was that he could headshot a Grunt with no crosshairs and about 100 yards away. Two was that all the while he was being so careful, he was shieldless. That blew me away.

I've got a couple in my fileshare. You'd be surprised what skills you pick up once you've been playing long enough.

The Grunts fall off too. It's hilarious watching them fly XD

Thats basically what I do, but I hide half-way up the ladder so the Brutes cant see me and I PP+BR them from afar. Its a near 100% kill guarentee. So, I kill everyone before the Phantom comes along. And the Brutes basically flee back around the corner straight away so the Grunts are easier to kill.

That's a pretty good idea! Don't they see the plasma coming though?

Well it seems like I'm getting worse instead of better. I've died seven times in the first lakebed today already; haven't cleared it once. Something different is happening now, I'll explain: I usually survive the lakebed by splattering the four or five grunts and the brute right as I enter the area, then immediately boost over to the first crate on the side and get out. I dash across the side and hide in the single open container on the little platform at the end, since the opening is right behind where the wraith drops. Once it drops, I board it, melee the back and finish off the brute (if he survives). Then I PP + BR the brute on the secondary gun in the AA wraith and make my way back. Now here's where the trouble starts. Yesterday when I was clearing the lakebed, I would make my way back to my ghost, and finish off the brute, grunts, and shield jackals in the tower with the sniper. But today, all the enemies leave the tower before I get back and then I can't deal with them without being ambushed by a grunt in a ghost.

Is there something I was doing accidentally to keep them in the tower or am I just getting unlucky?

Hmm, Try to leave the gunner on the AA Wraith untill later.
Also, when you run back, hop on your Ghost and kill everyone in/near the building. When its clear, run in and grab the Sniper. Grab the BR ammo and take out the Ghosts. Also, make sure to let the Warthog through. It will distract the Ghosts so you can kill them.

That's the problem, though. Once I get back to the tower, they have already evaccuated it... Do I just need to be faster?

Hmm.. When you arrive in the Lakebed, run over all the Grunts/Brutes as normal. Before you go over to the Wraith. Shoot the Brute untill his armor comes off. Then head over to the Wraith. By the time you come back, the Marines "should" have kill the Brute and majority of the remaining enemies. Just finish them off.

By the time the Brutes armor comes of. The Phantom should just appear which has the Wraith with it. It should be landing at approximatly the same time you reach that area.

Ok, sounds good. I'll have to be quick, though. I like beating the phantom to the landing point and hiding in the box; when correctly done, you never have a chance to be hit by the phantom's turret or the secondary gun on the wraith.

Just curious, why should I leave the AA wraith gunner for later?

Incase it gains the attention of the Ghosts. It easy to take out the building without being shot at by Ghosts. On SLASO you can never be too careful.

Thanks for the tips. I just cleared it on my first try (I'm sitting in front of the scarab now). We'll see how that battle plays out... probably not too well.
