Kind of creepy when you think about it...what a lurker. ^^

You just reminded me of Sierra 117 as a whole, I really liked that mission. Remember our Co-Op run?

I saw him post in a thread a few days ago. He's still around.
The Storm 9:59 on YouTube for those who want to watch it at your computers.

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

Just by looking at the Scarab part I can see that you can do it even faster by not throwing frags by accident, missing nades and such. :P Still around nice run.

Twenty-ninth Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror
Eleventh Halo 3: ODST Mythic Conqueror
Fifth Halo: Reach Mythic Conqueror

Nice speedrun, Dark! It's nice to see the new tactics in the game. I'm now ashamed of my one and only half an hour Summer Mythic run. Are the fastest Mythic runs all on High Speed Halo? I want to see the speedruns for The Covenant and Sierra 117--the two missions that kicked my ass as a young Mythicer.

Halo 3 is still very pretty, even four years later. It's very colorful--I'd say maybe even more pretty than Reach. It's colorful, where Reach is gritty. It made me feel nostalgic; I should play it again sometime.

Thank you Michael!
Not all the fastest Mythic runs are on High Speed Halo. I know Sierra 117 isnt, same with The Ark. I think it's just those two though, the rest are on there.

Well, initially, I was considering the Slide Jump. But I figured the Grav Lift jump to be better. Simply because, despite the Slide Jump getting you on ~5seconds faster, you have more enemies to fight.
If you do the Grav Lift jump, you only have to grenade that Brute Shot Brute who hides down bottom because he comes on top. The rest of the Grunts remain down there, not a threat.
What I'm saying is, despite boarding the Scarab faster, you have to fight more enemies, and it'd work out faster to board the Grav Lift way because you're already ontop of the Scarab.

I was considering your AA Wraith way, but it's probably too much effort on Mythic for what it's worth.
I'll just have to clear up the edges of my old run. Six seconds won't be hard to break off.

I'll test some new methods once I break Pahat's record.

It doesn't really matter how fast you board it because the core isn't accessible until the Scarab reaches it's designation; the core's shield is invincible. Like Gazas indicated, it's more about how well you fight.

I suspected that.
I see.

Yay! Btw I don't see what his problem with Halo 3 is. It looked like even he had difficulty during his Storm run.

In that case, ever heard of a way up to the area where Johnson is being pursued by the Brute and his Grunts (on Sierra 117) more quickly? ;)

All you have to do is take out 1 or 2 jackal snipers, go on a rock, frag jump, then catch the newly spawned Brute (that comse out of the tunnel) off guard, making the area less difficult because you could just hold your ground and headshot the Grunts charging up the small "hill". I think I showed it to Nak3dEli for his zero shot challenge but it was unsuited for that.

And I found this to be the easiest way to deal with the Scarab on The Ark, only instead of destroying it, you have a Ghost down below and you fire fuel rods at it's leg(s) and boost to the arena before the Scarab gets back up. I have a animosity towards them. Other than the one on The Storm, the rest are just incredibly random.

Sounds somewhat similar to what I do/did in my Sierra 117 Mythic Speedrun.
I'd like to see this though, unless the tactic you're describing is the same tactic I use.

Hello again guys.
I'd like to present to you, a new world record speedrun of Halo 3 Mythic.
The Storm in 9:51.

This run has been years in the making, ever since I began Halo 3 on Mythic. I have always wanted to beat Pahat Pojat at atleast one speedrun record. I initally beat him on Sierra 117, but I knew myself that the run wouldn't hold its own. I was right, not even a week later, he had improved my run by over two minutes. So I moved on, to The Storm.
This run was the single hardest thing I've ever done. I'm extremely happy and overjoyed to present this run to everyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. With this run, I can now leave Halo 3, and move on.

This run, has brought me to the my extremes. It has challenged every part of me. The amount of time I have put into this mission alone, is longer than I'd honestly like to consider.
Thank you guys, you're a great support.

Okay, listen, we should get our stories straight, all right? If anyone asks, and no one's gonna ask, don't worry, but if anyone asks, tell them as far as you know, the last time you checked, everyone looked pretty much alive, all right? Not dead.

My Stats And Armor

Done, and Done:)

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Damn Dark, now that is a run! I also expect this to be captured and put on youtube by tomorrow for the world to see :P

But seriously man, amazing job. The amount of effort you've put into this has really shown.
