OMG!!! I just found the greatest glitch ever... for SLASO questers. I hope this is'nt old and Im the last person to know or something but if you save and quit right after you die, when you are still looking at your body, then start up your game again, you will start at the last checkpoint you got before you died. This means that you don't have to go through an entire level to get to, and practice, the part you always fail at again, and again... i.e. Tsavo Highway (Brute Blocade), or Crows Nest (Motor Pool) Its like having rally points at every check point.
Oh, and if you are planning on dieing like 30 times and then finally completing the mission, and saying you did whatever mission on SLASO... It dosent count... and we will be able to see those deaths on your game details when you try to show us the proof you did it.
This should definatly be in the OP in General Tips or something so people know about it...
Most of us do know about this glitch, yes, but as long as you don't die on your final run, it will show that you had no deaths when you actually complete the level, although it will show a very short time. We had one guy a while ago claim to have beaten SLASO and he obviously used this trick, considering he beat Sierra 117 in less than 2 minutes, lol.
If someone were to use this trick to beat SLASO Campaign, we don't consider it legit. After all, it defeats the purpose of the Iron skull. That's why it's a very good idea to save your successful runs, just so you have proof that you did it.
I realize this... Im just talking about using it to practice certain parts of levels so you can get better at them and develope better strategies.
I actually used this method to practice the hammer jumps on the Halo level, but then when back and did them all. Then it hit me, if I'm just practicing, why bother to use the Iron Skull at all? After all, it doesn't affect any actual gameplay, just what happens if you die. So then I just started practicing without the Iron Skull on until I was ready for the real thing.
